Just waiting for Belgium to break the seal and get their Scimitar and Striker.
That is the only reason I’ll play froggistan
So they have added the fire control system again that disables everything for the mk2 . When it should disable thermal/nvg vision and laser rangefinder
There’s an accepted ticket for it:
Scimitar MK.2 FCS should not disable gun handling and firing (accepted)
Some other performance/gameplay bugs of note:
Scimitar mk.2 commander sight should not have thermals
Scimitar Mk.2 weight is incorrect (accepted)
Scimitar Mk.2 Engine Power Incorrect - bhp to metric hp miscalculation
Scimitar Mk.2 driver’s thermal imager not functioning
Scimitar Mk.2 - Incorrect Gunner Thermal Sight Resolution rejected as “not enough information”
Scimitar MK2 incorrect gunner thermal sight resolution - attempt no.2
Missing feature requests of sorts:
Scimitar Mk.2 slat armour should be removeable (implemented)
Scimitar Mk2 jammer/roll protection should be removable (accepted)
Scimitar Mk.2 is missing its scout UAV (accepted)
Scimitar Mk.2 missing L21A1 APFSDS Round (accepted)
Relatively minor issues of visual presentation and accuracy:
Scimitar Mk.2 incorrect transmission name
Scimitar Mk.2 should not have wing mirrors
I have a question: how is it possible that the armor without the extra hull armor has the same protection as the one that does?
Furthermore, it seems that simply having composite armor in front makes it easier to penetrate. Having composite armor is detrimental.
Angle of penetration and gaijin gimping the vehicle
Just tested, if you shoot the composite screen in Protection Analysis then it will use only the armour value of the composite screen, and will phase through the hull armour behind it.
classic
Maybe it doesn’t happen in battles.
its at gepard BR so it will
Is it also possible that the devs didn’t add armor to the front of the turret and the IR spotlight box? In the model, they look like plates that are screwed on, but they don’t provide any armor, therefore, both the turret armor and the IR spotlight armor are exactly the same as those of the Mk1 scimitar.

Yeah there’s a fair bit of composite that’s not included in the protection model around the front of the turret. They’ve only assigned a couple of the composite plates on the turret and the rest is treated as the turret metal
Some close ups of the front of the turret for visualisation of where the welded metal ends and the composite appliqué sits on top
The box next to the gun isn’t a spotlight though, it was a NV telescope. That’s removed on vehicles with thermal imagers and the space is used for cooling and electronics units for the gunner’s periscope complex.
Thanks for the information.
It seems these armor pieces aren’t in the model either, right?

Another thing I’ve been thinking about for a while is, what the hell are fences for? Out of curiosity, I tested the impacts with various HEAT rounds and the fences couldn’t stop even the 90mm rounds (320mm penetration) when supposedly they should be able to stop common RPG-7s, which have a similar penetration.
Gaijin’s modelling of bar armour isn’t great.
In game it acts a basically spaced armour as HEAT shells always fuze. Where as IRL it damages the HEAT warhead to prevent it functioning properly. It’s not 100% effective, if the projectiles fuze strikes the slat or a support directly it’ll just function as spaced armour
Scimitar Gen 3 TVD denied.

It’s curious to me that they put those vehicles with barbed armor, and that they are literally useless (I have to test if they are effective against 40mm HEAT), because they are not capable of protecting against absolutely any chemical ammunition, unless they are small caliber HE.
You can remove the slat armour thank the gods
fat git is slightly less fat now woopieeee
That’s reasonable, since there are Scimitars Mk2 without that armor. I’ll wear it anyway because I like it better aesthetically.
