So after most of the russian, other nation vehicles got optical tracker, i guess its time to add this to many CV90s including the 90120(T) which after got a weight increase to max combat weight, which is adding up with the 1000hp engine, AMAP ADS/APS/iron fist , RWR,MAW, and gaijin decide to rename it to the T model so i guess its time to upgrade the vehicle to 2006+ standards, as they did with the weight, i hope gaijin make this step, because sweden lacks rn
No sweden must suffer they have 3 armored leos, every other downside is moot lol
/s
sweden have more"better’ leopards vs germany…
Except the round is generally worse, and the difference in armour is effectively negligible unless you’re hitting 2 very specific locations that you shouldn’t be targeting on a leopard anyway. Also you will continue to receive continued leopard additions in the German tree which will eclipse these leopards, so not sure what you’re moaning about on the count front anyway.
The CV90’s don’t have an optical tracker. the only one that has been proven to have an optical tracker IRL is the LVKV90 TD (which is why the LVKV in game got IR tracking).
Not really there are multiple type of autotrackers, the lvkv had a component ehich gave it a 3D autotracker which gaves the ability to reliablle hit air targets, this include the continous distance calculation, and vectoring, but other cv90s doesnt need 3d tracking, only vector calculation, and btw autotrackers are modelled wrong ingame, because all of them should be 2 dimensional, or semi 3 dimensional with continous rangefinding.
MBTs and most of the ifv ingame are not capable of 3d tracking, the hungarian leo proven to have that, and all of the CVs with utaas should have 2d autotracker at least, because its ridicolous to think about 2010+ vehicle need to aim manually to target and hold a lead. Bae systems states that eith hunter killer capability you can LOCK up multiple targets to cue, so i guess its self explaining
We’ve been through this previously.
The sight is capable of being controlled by a computer to lock onto targets.
Now what computer does the CV90120 use?
The Strf 9040’s computers [at least the older ones] don’t have lock-on functionality.
This was proven in documents and on a video by Nicholas Moran.
The FCS & sight combination needs to be exact in this case, and that’s what I hate about what BAE did to the Strf 9040s.
Question: why are MBT getting optical tracker all of the sudden? Did the russian MBT actually have it or is gaijin adding them to all top tier MBT?
Possibly have it, like most mbts around the world
yea i want optical tracking for abrams cuz it has proxy shell, i assume that they have it too
The version we have in game is the 2006 CV 90120-T variant, which aside from the weight being too high (currently set to the max figures of the vehicle, which was only reached with the AMAP ADS APS) the elevation/traverse speeds and (arguably) the rate of fire (listed as 12-14rpm, ingame: 12 rpm) - the vehicle is mostly accurate.
The 1000hp engine figure and other things are not related to this variant. (It did use UTAAS, which gaijin doesnt consider as IRST though since it’s an inertial “tracker”, not one that tracks via IR/UV/opt. contrast.
They’re adding it to MBTs that have it IRL.
Merkava, Leclerc, Type 90/10, ZTZ-99 & friends, T-90M to name ones off the top of my head.
I haven’t heard about Abrams having it IRL, but it could.
Well I wish we could’ve gotten 2 variants, as the un-nerfed CV90120 (as you know) was a seperate project to the T variant, and they represent different playstyles to a degree, at least one is more mobile but lacking in systems while the other is a ‘full package’ but heavier and better armed.
The kind of tracking the CV90’s have is not a function that is programmed into the game yet. It would not function the same way the optical trackers do.
Read: “They can’t be bothered modeling something unique for a minor nation if they can’t sell it for an arm and a leg”
Not only a minor nation, most MBT’s that has a laser range finder has some sort of similar system IRL so it would also allow many MBT’s in the game to track ground targets and apply automatic lead.
I mean this is modelled, in arcade, you have inetial tracking basically, not playing much arcade but its similarish, but the main diff is that gunner sight should stays on target while your cannon, is leaded ahead of target
The tracking in arcade is still better than inertial tracking would be, inertial tracking wouldn’t follow the target if the target changed direction. It also does not apply automatic lead.
This is not universally true - e.g. UTAAS features an Independent L-O-S.
The gunners reticle remains fixed on the intertial movement (i.e. the expected inertial target position) and the gun itself is laid/lead automatically.
