I want to talk about the CV90 Mk. IV will be added in the next major update, and I realize it is a different model from the many models of CV90 Mk. IV. I would like to see the CV90 Mk. IV with the D series upgrade (s). It includes the D series turret that can be fitted with the Iron Fist APS (active protection system (hard kill) ), a modification of the US-made XM913 50x228mm bushmaster III chain gun/autocannon, an improved 1000 hp Scania engine (DS16 I could only find information of the DI16 (marine version) which still could be a good basis), the X300 heavy-duty transmission. All of this information is open to the public, and sourced from public manufacturer/development data. [poll type=regular results=always chartType=bar]
Would you like to see this variant of the CV90 in Warthunder?
Would you not like to see this variant of the CV90 in Warthunder?

The consensus is yes we want it. The problem is gaijin is doing the germany thing where the 30mm model isnt what we need. So we start with the worst one with no idea if the devs plan on actually adding the version we need. So we are gonna have to wait until they add them. Imo i wouldve taken a nice 23mm spaa from finalnd for 5.x or something for 6.x spaa wise but i digress.
Realistically the reason we dont get the D model is probably so gaijin can sell it as a premium
unless it gets a APS or a better cannon it feels like a downgrade from the CV9040 BILL at a higher br cause you get a worse cannon that fires slower, hit or miss missile, and you have less missiles than the bill, and as of right now it doesn’t even have a LWS but that may change
does get the improved engine and armor tho
but how useful that armor difference is remains to be seen, i’d guess it would stop 12.7mm from penning the side at least
armor and weight are broken ATM it should be a bit lighter and the front armor should be able to stop 30mm APFSDS rounds. still going to be DOA without an upgraded cannon and APS
Yeah, i dont have all the information to make a bug report for the MK.IV, though getting things changed before the update drops is the o ly way to get anything changed. After its nearly impossible
on the BAE systems website it says " The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is increased from 35 tonnes to 38 tonnes, offering users three tonnes of extra payload" meaning that the curb weight of the vehicle is 35 tons and in game it is 37 tons the ammunition and crew are definitely not 2 extra tons.
