Custom flags functionality

Removing the TW flag was not requested by Chinese players; it was Gaijin’s own action. Chinese players will have no objections to this matter because we follow your advice to ‘no longer care about politics.’ It’s just a game, brother.

Yeah probably this. If it works like the in-game Localization feature, they don’t have the national flag mapped.

Of course! It is Gaijin who makes the decisions. I’m just here to talk about why this one is wrong.

Don’t bring politics into this discussion about the ROC flag, which me and others believe is unfairly subjected to a different set of (arbitrary) rules than other operators/subtrees.

Think they deserve to have their flag in the game

Some people, 100% act like this. I wouldn’t say this is everyone though.

I dont want it to be political, people shouting “one china” are
i want Taiwanese vehicles with a Taiwanese flag

Thats one hell of a political statement
having a nations flag in game doesnt “oppose china” unless you are involved in politics

The Taiwanese vehicles in the game currently feature the Taiwanese flag. This removal only removed the Taiwanese symbol from the custom tech tree flag.

Probably something to bear in mind if you would like to see a flag representing the ROC as a part of the custom flags functionality. Do not rise to the provocations of those discussing Taiwan’s legitimacy as a state, they’re just trying to derail the conversation and may be deliberately trying to make the topic impossible to discuss and therefore delaying the implementation of such a flag indefinitely.

Again, don’t rise to it, the mods will see they’re arguing in bad faith and trying to derail the conversation and so they’ll remove their “contributions” from the discussion in due course.

but why remove it? thats so backwards
Then remove the vehicles too and make it its own tree, share it with Korea or something

Then I strongly agree. Most of the Taiwanese vehicles in the Chinese tech tree are very poor and won’t have any impact on China’s tech tree progression. Becoming independent could better help me reach the top. If you are willing, you can submit this proposal to BWD and see if Gaijin is willing to accept it, and that’s it.

Actually, if you ask me, when playing games, just play happily. Some people’s lives are already exhausting enough, so after work or school, just playing games to relax should be enough.

Then let me inform you;

I want the Republic of China flag because I believe that all countries in game should be represented in this new system. Whether it is because it was used in 1928-1949 or it is the flag of Taiwan, I want to see it.

In a Taiwanese case, I know exactly what it is like to come from a mostly unrecognised country. If the TRNC had their own vehicles and they were in game with the TRNC flag behind it, I wouldn’t want my country to be half-represented by having the flag in the game but not in the Custom Flags tool.

But even if we ignore that, I’m pretty sure we have vehicles used by the 1911/1928-1949 Republic of China in game, such as the M8 LAC. So that flag deserves to be in game as long as these vehicles are represented.

I don’t hate China or Chinese players. Look in this thread, I’ve had productive conversations. I have Chinese players added because we had positive interactions. For parity, that flag should be in the tool. Especially when the flag of now-non-existent countries still exist! The 1928-1949 Flag would be the exact same case as the Kingdom of Italy flag.

no future abrams, no ah64, no mirage, f16, cm11 or m60, and other new likely upcoming top tier vehicles

Then why are you here arguing against Taiwanese flag in the game, its just a game

This only removes the Taiwanese flag from the custom tech tree icons, not the Taiwanese flag on the tech tree itself. If you go to check the vehicle profile backgrounds within the tech tree, they still have the Taiwanese flag. Does changing the flag that represents the tech tree to Taiwan really affect your so-called ‘historical accuracy’?.
