I rarely do the events. Only event vehicles I have are the WW1 ones
That’s what I changed Israel to on my end. Reality is, you should be allowed to change these flags on the user end of things.

When do we get back the rising sun flag? Its just sad playing iconic imperial japanese vehicles like an A6M or the IJN Mogami without the rising sun that accompanied them IRL and in most media regarding said iconic pieces of history

Speaking of, it is rather weird that by default Germany has its WWII-era flag but Italy has its modern flag?
Also weird that WWII-era Germany isn’t listed as the Third Reich but just “Germany” but the Kingdom of Italy is listed as such.

Here the Rising Sun was not the national flag, it was only the Army / Navy flags. The national flag in game is the flag used from 1870-1999 (besides short time after the war).
If you want WWII national flags then Germany is one that is wrong, because they only have the military flag and not the national one as well. Now while there is an argument that this is to avoid the swastika on the national flag, the military flag also has the same issue and was implemented as a censored version. Gaijin could easily do the same for the national flag.

I think it’s less about censoring history and instead about Russian law banning the symbol in general. That’s why other similar symbols like the hammer and sickle or Rising Sun are still found in game despite the meaning they carry in other nations, while the swastika is swapped for either a basic cross or Balkenkreuz.
Not sure how it is now that they’re not based in Russia anymore, but adding the swastika across the board could be a very unpopular PR move even if it was legal now. Especially because this would be a deliberate change rather than it just being there from the start, a conscious decision to add such a symbol after not having it for years.
So it’s less that Gaijin has somehow decided that one is worth acting on but the others aren’t, but instead that they are just following legal obligations and possibly because adding it isn’t worth the possible negative attention.
Hikaristi is weird, gaijin does sorta seem to listen to feedback when it comes to what it should be changed to.
When the KV-1A was released they added the Finnish air cross which is ugly and historically wrong, it should’ve either just not had any markings or been giving a post war camo with the standard Finnish roundel. They denied the postwar roundel as it wasn’t accurate to the vehicle. Despite them adding a air marking but whatever why use an actual camo when you can make something up
When the T-50 was added they based the camo on a post war image but chose to add roundels all over that match partially with a in service model with Hikaristi
Probably why we don’t get many Finnish air force emblems lol
Honestly as far as flags go personally I’m not against it but I kinda get gaijin wants to appease the majority but they are kinda picking and choosing while ignoring other symbols which to others are equally as offensive as something like the Hikaristi ect.

That is sadly the whole reason this thread exists. And even then I had to notify the mods we needed it, since it was already closed and hidden mere hours after it was opened. (Was a miscommunication between the mods, but Smin was very helpful)

They legally have to censor certain symbols in order to have their game available in certain countries. As much as it ‘sucks’, they have to censor them.
Then just make it so in those countries it’s censored.
