Right now if you have the show operator nation setting enabled, it shows the flag of the vehicle being operated by the player. For example, if you’re playing against the US and you see Australia also on the other team you can expect it to be the M1 AIM, if that player gets killed and leaves the game the flag goes away.
Its a pretty neat way to determine what vehicles you’re playing against if you truly care about it that much.

Where is the ROC flag? One of the main tech trees of the Chinese tech tree didn’t get a flag. What happened to it?

Here’s a quick question, why do you guys care so much about the ROC flag? How many of you actually play the game using Chinese vehicles? How many of you are actually affected by this?

Good question,the official is not respawn this issule.I’m still waiting for an official answer.
Just for client user system ,this is not a problem ,I think their know it .
Gaijin and the mainland Chinese community don’t want you to have an alternative flag option that only YOU can see if YOU change it for yourself.
Its quite sad that they have yet to make an official statement regarding this. Like why remove the flag? Let me change the country flag to whatever I want. Its not like other players can see what options I pick unless I stream or upload videos even then its my personal choice and not a reflection of Gaijins views or political opinions.
Leave it to Gaijin and extension the mainland Chinese players to turn something small into a bigger issue.
Like no one is forcing mainland Chinese players to use that flag. Its an OPTION for those that WANT TO USE IT.

The official reason is that ROC vehicles in War Thunder are currently represented by the ROC army flag instead of the ROC national flag, and Gaijin has made it policy to not allow army/navy flags in the flag customisation.
The real reason is likely something else which has been debated to death in this thread already.
Ok then they shall add the ROC national flag.

I’d like the ROC flag to represent my most played top tier aircraft, the Mirage 2000-5Ei
But each to their own, a lot of people are whining for the sake of criticising gaijin
Every in-game operator deserves to be represented by their own flag, and I think the same standards and rules should apply to all operators so that none are discriminated against. In the 1314 posts in this thread I have yet to hear a convincing non-political argument for why ROC flag shouldn’t be in the game.

I can’t speak for everyone else here obviously, but I think that there should be a level of consistency in the game that is broken by not having the flag.
The way it is now, they arbitrarily decided to only have the ROCA flag for ROC vehicles, making them not have any national representation in the selection. Using the same concept some other nations like the Republic of South Vietnam or the Weimar Republic are also missing despite being in game. This sets a bad precedent for the future as well, since now if a nation happens to be added with a military flag, it won’t be represented.
This can easily be fixed by just always consistently using national flags to represent each nation.
This shouldn’t have political implications either, considering pre-1948 PRC vehicles also get a national flag for a nation that has yet to be founded, meaning it doesn’t matter if you believe ROC is a nation or not for them as a faction to use the flag that ROC used as an undisputed nation during WWII for example.
