True, that does require bringing one of the WW2 vehicles to top tier, but the flag is same for the full time.
Unsure if this is an issue with the implementation or intended, however, now with the ability to choose “operator flags” in matches, you can pinpoint exact vehicles an opponent may be using.
For example, seeing Lithuania suddenly appear as an enemy nation under the tab menu, I now know that an opponent has spawned a vilkas. (The operator selection in the tab menu is based on operator vehicles in play, not on the flag you choose to represent your research tree.)
I’m not sure how big an issue this even is, if at all, as I don’t play competitively enough. It is something I noted, however.
that is intended behavior, otherwise they would show entire lineups flags which could get very messy
Gotcha. As I mentioned, I don’t play competitively enough, nor do I participate in high-ranked squad play, etc. Do we think this is significant in that tier of play? Generally, I know information about the opponent’s team is always important in more competitive scenarios.
I have a feeling Gaijin might be a little biased toward the People’s Republic of China.
Gaijin is biased towards money. Excluding the Taiwanese flag is a political decision but ignoring your own rule about not being political in the persuit of money is an age old thing.
It does raise the question about why the North Korean and South Korean flags are allowed though. Flags which are politically sensitive in both nations I believe. I’ll let you decide why that decision was made.
I guess money is indeed above the law (or rules in this case).

Not what I wanted but it will do for now.

Welp, this settles it, it’s intended, time to draft our suggestions.
These reports mention the current (ROCA) flag being missing from the selection, which they have a good excuse for. What they can’t excuse is the reason it’s the Army flag in the first place, since that makes no sense at all compared to other nations in game.
Now that Japan was changed from Army to national flag too there might be a chance to get a change here.
Maybe it’s a valid bug report that the Republic of China incorrectly uses military (Army) flag while nations are meant to be represented by the national flag.
I’ll let you make that, in the meantime, I’ll start drafting the suggestion if your report is not classed as a bug.
I’m sorry to say a report of this kind has already been rejected. Two weeks ago.

They didn’t elaborate. I’ve also tried to reach @Smin1080p_WT for a official explanation but so far no luck.
Ofc we doesn’t have Taiwan flag, what did you expected from a company founded in Russia, after they refused to call T-84M oplot T-84 and put it in the Japanese tech tree that wasn’t a huge surprise they refused to put Taiwanese flag in the game. Afterall that was a logical conclusion because a mayority of their player base chienese, it’s like you won’t put Ukrainian flag to Russia when more Russians playing the game than Ukrainians.
I don’t want to assume anything, I want an official explanation. If the decision is right then they should be able to defend it.
Also, the ROC national flag is already in the game. 1. Languages menu, 2. As a decal in World flags.
All we’re asking for is to replace the ROC army flag with the correct national one.

“Please do not use bug report site for suggestions” Welp, straight from the horses mouth, I’ll start drafting a suggestion.
Alright, at least that saved some time…
At this point I feel like they might just not care what we write to them. Maybe writing to news agencies about this issue is more helpful than writing it as suggestion to Gaijin.
As a joke,
If Gaijin evades the political problem by making another political blunder
Maybe giving Gaijin ‘that political problem’ will be the easiest solution which we can try.
:/
There are ways but I won’t list them here.

Honestly I meant that as a “Gaijin would rather listen to non-players (that see it on the news) than their actual customers”, but if this is genuinely a way to call attention to the issue it might be worth a try.
Money is the reason, we all know it, millions of chienese players would be upset about the Taiwanese flag. And gaijin doesn’t want to risk reputation or money in Asia / in China. (and we all know Gaijin is Russian sided so that means they’re on China’s side too unlike Taiwan’s side, I’d use Taiwan’s flag instead of China but most likely the Chienese players spending way too much on the gaijin to worth to risk a Taiwanese flag implementation in the game.)
