Custom flags functionality

I never said I wanted to be, I’d rather Poland be independent just going off which nations could theoretically become Poland

The P-47 is a Polish Pilot’s, but it’s an American air force operated aircraft

They already made this change on the on dev server, it is no longer “Republic China”, just “China”.

I will stay out of technicalities and focus on the bigger picture: vehicles that historically operated under ROC should be represented by the ROC national flag, and it is imperative that this flag be made available as an option in the tech tree customization feature. All of this for reasons of consistency and historical accuracy, among others.

While it isn’t exactly my wish, I won’t mind if they’re all called “China” as long as we get the correct flags. I believe this is the most reasonable compromise position.

See my concept drawing below:

Ih I thought it had Polish flag, but apparently not

They did this before, when the dev server first opened. You had “China” and “China”

Common mistake, I didn’t even realise this until this function dropped and I looked into it

they don’t even need to add the flag as an asset since it is there for languages

Another example of gaijin taking a side, FRG is just called Germany but GDR has its official name.

(In all seriousness I think they should use official names for every country, including PRC and RoC. Naming both just “China” is ahistorical)

So I had a quick look at live and it says Republic China gaijin simply removing history here

So let me get this straight,

The vocal Chinese don’t want the VT-4 inside Japan because of WW2 and so gaijin listened to them but at the same time they annoyed the west by removing the republic of China from the game, that existed in WW2. Logic anyone ?

TBH ahistorical is all they want, that why we have this issue. The so called “one china” concept itself is ahistorical and we all knew that.

Stop talking about politics

You really think gaijon treats Chinese players well? How hilarious

Why do you think China should get special treatment ?

Italy hadn’t had a squadron vehicle for years until this update, The British haven’t received a top tier jet for 3 years at one point, US top tier ground has stagnated and Israel haven’t received as sub yet.

So yeah they tend to not treat players of all nations equally

It’s not about politics, Republic of China existed before the end of WW2 that’s a fact and the game should reflect this fact in lower end vehicles at least, it’s not fair to whitewash a whole nation history. All vehicles pre-1949 should have the RoC flag at least.

Stop justifying breaking gaijin ToS

It’s history, read the wiki and you live in Nanjing, that was the old capital of the RoC perhaps learn about your own city’s history before telling others to read. An Englishman knows more about the city you live in more than the people that actually live there is hilarious, even AI says it’s not political

"Short answer: not really, as long as you’re sticking to plain historical facts.

Saying that the Republic of China was a recognized country before 1949 is just describing what the world looked like at that time. That’s history class stuff. It only drifts into politics when someone uses that history to argue about modern claims, legitimacy, or current governments.

So if the conversation is basically “Here’s what existed before 1949,” that’s historical, not political. If it turns into “And therefore today it should be X,” that’s where it crosses the line.

Think of it like talking about any past government. You’re just describing how things were, the same way people talk about the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottoman Empire, or any other state that reorganized or dissolved."

Talking about the RoC before 1949 should be fine, as it I don’t know why he’s screaming about the ToS when the ToS says it’s fine talking about flags.

" 6 . Political Content . We do not support or endorse political entities, and using our Game(s) for any political purpose is strictly prohibited. This includes posting political messages in game chats or using political content in clan (squadron, etc.) names, logos, or descriptions. The only exception is the occasional addition of neutral content by Gaijin, such as flags and national emblems of United Nations Member States."

So he can cry all he likes about pre-1949 lol, so @J-16D_PLA tell me where is this rule where I can’t speak about pre 1949 RoC flags as I love to hear that rule
