My overall opinion on the flag/the removal of the other flags:
It’s really not that big of a deal. The other flags removed (Weimar republic, British Empire, and the pre USSR Russian flag) didn’t need to be removed either IMO. However, removing all naval/army flags isn’t that bad of a change either because nations should use their national flags.
And unless I am forgetting something, wasn’t it just the ROC army/pre PRC flag that was in the game, and not the modern Taiwanese flag?

They use the same flag. In the dev server it was simply “China”. Both are China (Republic of China, both Taiwan’s official name and the 1912-1949 state) so its pretty ambiguous to say it was the ROC from 1928-1949 or that it was the Taiwanese flag.
The one in the dev server was the Taiwanese Military Flag. The one you can still see in game with both Taiwanese and Pre-1949 China vehicles.
The fact that it was removed and not replaced with the National Flag is what sparked all of this. Being that the blue square was in the top left rather than the middle- as seen on the decal for the ROC in game.
I doubt it won’t come. I believe that Gaijin has just not given it a replacement national flag yet (which extends to the British Empire flag aswell)
That’s what I thought. I don’t see any reason for Gaijin to not give us a modern ROC flag considering they make up about 1/4th to 1/3rd of the top half of the air tree.
I would like to see all national flags come to all nations represented in WT, with the specific flag and name corresponding to what vehicles are in game.
As I said, zero chance. Zero.
Hopefully this is the case, perhaps their 2D artist is frantically clicking pixels as we speak.
British Empire would just be the normal UK flag tbh

Unlike other examples listed, several vehicles in the Chinese tree are from Taiwan/ROC and are used under the Taiwanese national flag.
Why are you erasing them from the game?

Yeah true, the Republic of Vietnam* then. Republic of Vietnam for the US would be a better example. The Navy flag was removed but there is no Southern Vietnamese flag either.
In my opinion, China and Taiwan should get the North and South Korea treatment. In both cases they claim to be the real one all because a civil war, and in both civil war none of em signed a surrender, more like a very long ceasefire.
The taiwan flag must be ingame, cause it is historical, it was present during WW2 when they fought the japanese and even present now after china civil war.
That’d be the Republic of China (1912-1949), not Taiwan. Taiwan was an actual province of that country back then I believe.
gaijin should add the 1912 chinese flag because its cool looking. Plus it totally wont be mistaken for something else by ineducated players
Would come with Chinese Naval I think, as would Qing Dynasty. In game, the oldest ROC vehicle we have was post 1928.
yeah republic of china is the correct name. but I usually use the word taiwan bc popular term

The Republic of China was the name back in 1912-1949, it was only Taiwan once they broke away from Mainland China (in 1949 I believe).
it also makes it clearer which country you mean because calling them both “china” of some flavour is just messy.
but it always seems the chinese base complains about one thing and gaijin gets it done quicker than when people were rioting over the economy changes
american mains complain to your hearts content when the abrams gets thrown into another nation without representation.
Yeah cause the guys responsible for the UI would totally be able to help fix bugs/other issues
