Not adding the national flag of the RoC would be an extreme double standard on Gaijins account. Either give all nations represented in a tree their national flag, or remove the feature entirely.
Stop doing double standards/rules for thee not for me/do as I say, not as I do.
This is has quickly become the single most frustrating part about how Gaijin is directing this game, and I say that as someone who has been fuming at FOMO in War Thunder for years now.
This is also setting an example for the Korean tree, but there only one side has access to the game and will most likely not care

We only wanted to keep the original ROC military flag. I didn’t care much at first, but because of complaints from Chinese players, it was removed, taking away my ability to just express myself.
I don’t think it was removed because of complaints. The Chinese Moderator (and our CMs) said that it would only reflect National Flags. Hence why the British Empire was removed aswell, as the flag added was only the Naval Flag.
Its just that they haven’t added the national flag yet, which isn’t hard to add considering they already have the asset on the wiki

I wish to have the ROC flag because I have interest in the ROC and their vehicles. Why cant I label them as such?

I think it is fine to see the ROC/Taiwan flag in-game as an option for flag selection.
I have no bad mood if the Irish flag shows up in the flag selection of the British Branch.
Because it is just a small feature which impacts not a single thing about gameplay itself.
and can’t see the other user’s selection in-game, too.
In this Unified Chinese TT,
Mainland Chinese residents want to believe it is PRC TT with Taiwan Subtree
-Then it is fine to add the Taiwanese flag of the subtree nation
A Taiwanese resident wants to believe it is ROC TT with the mainland subtree
-Then it is fine to keep the PRC flag in this game.
I really am unsure about the current status of the custom flag feature

Also, I think this doesn’t mean Gaijin isn’t supporting the One-China Policy.

Actually, the Chinese display originally showed the ROC flag, but it was later modified for the sake of China.
That aswell. The flag exists in game as an operator country* which is why its weird that they haven’t added it yet.

It’s a fun customization option, especially when it allows the far less common or popular nations to get a bit more spotlight. I can now have a Danish tree, a Thai tree and a Vietnamese tree if I want, and more importantly and practically I can selectively choose for example the Finnish nation if I’m playing a Finnish lineup for example. Doesn’t change the game a lot, it’s just reflavored localization, but it’s a fun option.
Though I was also looking forward to the Weimar Republic that was sadly removed for only having a military flag in game so far (same as the Republic of China). This is my main reason to want all of these nations with military flags only to get added back with their national flags instead.
