I’d like the ROC flag to represent my most played top tier aircraft, the Mirage 2000-5Ei
But each to their own, a lot of people are whining for the sake of criticising gaijin
Every in-game operator deserves to be represented by their own flag, and I think the same standards and rules should apply to all operators so that none are discriminated against. In the 1314 posts in this thread I have yet to hear a convincing non-political argument for why ROC flag shouldn’t be in the game.

I can’t speak for everyone else here obviously, but I think that there should be a level of consistency in the game that is broken by not having the flag.
The way it is now, they arbitrarily decided to only have the ROCA flag for ROC vehicles, making them not have any national representation in the selection. Using the same concept some other nations like the Republic of South Vietnam or the Weimar Republic are also missing despite being in game. This sets a bad precedent for the future as well, since now if a nation happens to be added with a military flag, it won’t be represented.
This can easily be fixed by just always consistently using national flags to represent each nation.
This shouldn’t have political implications either, considering pre-1948 PRC vehicles also get a national flag for a nation that has yet to be founded, meaning it doesn’t matter if you believe ROC is a nation or not for them as a faction to use the flag that ROC used as an undisputed nation during WWII for example.

Yeah, I get that part but all the attention this one’s getting is kinda weird. Only a handful of players in this thread actually play the Chinese TT extensively and the rest are just ranting about something that they probably’ll never use even if it was added.
The stuff I see here is exactly the kind of fanaticism I saw in the Chinese community regarding the VT4 thing back in September. Ironically some people I see here were also whining about how the ROCA is getting their own Abrams and Apache.
Yeah, players who do own ROCA vehicles and people from the region should get a say in this, but I’d also say this thread is mostly filled with western busybodies. How about we just mind our own business and let the controversy die down so Gaijin can finally fix it without getting into deeper crap.
If we stop discussing the issue, nothing will be fixed. It’s better to keep the discussion going. It’s the best way to possibly get a Gaijin answer. If this flag matters to you, then — “no matter where you come from” — you can freely share your view on this thread.

Ah, I see you’re a man of taste, I get why you want the flag, and I have to say I do too for the same reason, albeit I’m a bit less dedicated. Then again, I’m just quite surprised by how many users are ranting on this thread, and I find it hard to believe that they all play the Chinese TT seriously.

As I said, this is a customization option. Most people talk about what we want, while another group says you have no right to think about it.

well since its no gameplay related thing where you actually should know the br/vehicle you are talking about this topic only requires to see double standards to complain. nothing else…
well thats also partially on the response since many users just like to poke into the emotional stuff to troll etc. So the topic would have see less attention if there werent so many emotional takes on similiar stuff before. and the topic is ridiculous since the roc flag is already ingame.
and if its so bad like the japanese navy flag for certain locations they just can region lock it for those players

Indeed, there was a “Traditional Chinese” option in the language settings, and it displayed the Republic of China flag. Ironically, the display restrictions for “Simplified Chinese” were set before server development, yet they are now protesting the appearance of the Republic of China flag in languages they don’t use (such as English, Japanese, and Russian). According to their logic: those who don’t play Chinese TT or aren’t Chinese/Taiwanese have no right to speak. So why are they unhappy about these visual elements appearing in languages they don’t use? Now, following their protest, the server development content has been modified and officially released within 24 hours, and I believe all our discussions were reasonable and unrelated to nationality or whether one plays a particular country’s TT.

The issue with there being no ROC flag of any form to be selected is noticeable. I can change the USA flag to Canada, or Greece, I can change the USSR flag to the Empire of Russia, or Israeli to Colombia. Yet this one example we can’t change it for ourselves, while I do not believe the devs would do this with malice, it is reasonable for many to believe so because of many other companies far bigger than the snail to give the knee to China/CCP in this regard.
If a ROC flag is not in the game to be selected because its “still in a conflict” than you must remove the North Korean flag.
China fought in World War 2, it fought against the Japanese, America relied on China, and that is shown in game, with dozens of American tanks, and air craft having the marks of China.
It is fair for us to expect the flag that China fought under to be selectable. The older US flag not being selectable I can understand as its frankly so similar.
But I am able to select the Russian Empire flag, a flag that hasn’t been fought under in over a hundred years. Why do we have that one, yet not the flag China fought under during World War 2?
The fact we can not select some form of the ROC or similar flag as such is strange, and while I again restate I do not believe the team has done this with malice, its glaring mistake we all feel it seems.
If the Russian empire flag can be selected, So can a ROC flag/or a flag before 1945 of the recognized govt of the time.

Where’s the Weimar Republic Flag?
There are tanks or planes in the game that were used by the Weimar government, only ships. And Gaijin won’t allow naval jacks to represent a nation (Except ROC in the TT, but hey, surely that is not an issue for the playerbase.)
