Current state of the game

Good Morning, Afternoon, Day or whatever the time is where you live.

I am brand new to the forums and I am curious to gain some information on the general consensus of the community.

One of my main questions for the developers (if they are listening) Is… why, when problems arise, like the HSTV-L spookston debarcle, do developers just not listen to the community. I know managing the game is hard, but if you have many people telling you the same thing, is there like a, all godly omnipotent person sitting at the tippity top of the gaijin hierarchy telling everyone what to do?

Anyway that is enough yapping from me, I could go on for hours talking about, leak lists, The F/A-18F Super Hornet and the RAAF but anyway. Have a wonderful day people (thanks for engaging with a curious War Thunder player!!! ♥)

Actually I meant to say the developers not always listen, sorry guys!

Because the community might be wrong, or demand things that would ruin the balance

The question is also if it’s actually the community asking, or just a loud minority of the community

That’s up to them to answer.
I have an idea why though and as much i complain myself about some things (MM/balance mostly) , companies work with a schedule.
If for example want to add all the vehicles first, balance later and do maps/gameplay later…that’s what they’ll do.
If for example they added modern vehicles later (and they started by denying any modern jets, more than Korean era) , the community wrote 20 million posts asking for newer things. In general , if you see the posts you’ll see 600 asking for X vehicles , 300 buff this/nerf that and 100 about any way/idea of balancing and gameplay.
From those 400 posts you’ll see about nerf/buff and gameplay, the basic the reason is “because i have issues” / “trust me bro” … And then when they are based somewhere, even pure logic with explanations etc. all the others will come and get you because of a comma , because they are just biased or their favorite toy won’t be in favorable position etc. the topic will derranged and closed or forgotten.
So , why listen to the community in the end? They have their schedule , it works (even if we don’t exactly know it or we don’t exactly like it) and that’s what they care.

And while i’m bashing the company a little bit much about some things, i can understand their POV.

another us main kvetching why they don’t get aibrams at 6.0
and how gaijin hating americans

yeah i suppose not that they listen, but maybe when they listen is when the game is impacted the most. Like the review bombs I guess

nah I don’t really care what US mains get or when they get it, I just play what is the most overpowered at the time haha

yeah that makes a lot of sense @Nick_Cloud. It makes sense for them to do what they do when they do. I feel if they engaged more with the community, such as polls and what the community wants. I guess they already to that to a degree. I guess as Gaijin you have to find the right time to listen to the community as most people: as you said, are angry because something or a vehicle they play isn’t balanced properly

They do and its brought nothing but trouble. You have to define community.
Community is kids of 12 or players in their 70s.
It is American, British, Chinese, Japanese, Indian,Russian etc etc all having different cultures, expectations and game play styles.

Some like to accept the game as it is and some like to whine like hell about everything.
We presume that customer complaints lead to the recent map changes where the cover was scoured clean and huge rocks block every sniping point.I also imagine players suggestions lead to the artillery spam in low tiers which ripped the heart out of the game immersion wise.

Fans begged for Helicopters,Drones and tank busting A10s that make top tier unplayable.Pretty much everything tha has killed the game over the last two years is a result of Gaijin listening to …well somebody.Either via official suggestion or just reading their own forum.
You can see the divisions on here.Check out debates on CAS,Era,Balance,Maps,BR ,Nations etc etc.

So who should Gaijin listen to?

Looking at this I realised my big blunder. I was not really considering the POV of the developers or the processes that they follow. I feel like my words were very biased. I made a mistake and I am sorry

No harm in asking a question and my answer in turn is open to different view points. Some will say the maps needed changing or they love every new addition.
I too am baffled by much of what Gaijin does although I have come to understand the dilemmas they face.
All in all my lack of faith and trust in the game now is simply what stops me buying premium any more or spending as I once did.

Gaijin choose not to interact with the community much so you really have no apologies to make regarding assumptions.Lack of transparency leads us to make assumptions. We can only guess in place of solid info. You also opened yourself up to a contrary view point which is nice.

Yeah, I did make a mistake. It would be interesting to see what the gaijin HQ is like and how the updates are made and considered. I would love if Gaijin ran a raffle and send someone to the HQ to see how they make the updates.

I do believe that I should of considered more points of view, now that I look at my first discussion I start to think that I can get a bit biased sometimes. Sorry, but don’t we all sometimes 😄

of course they aren’t

Well the devs are at least reading what the community says, looking at some stuff ppl complain about the game/ suggest you see at least some of them being added/fixed.

But it is obvious that its not everything, neither the most important complains , I do get the idea of a loud small group in some cases , but regarding BR compression and insanely long grind is something that I see 90% of the playbase having some complain about.

Listening and acting upon feedback are 2 different things.

Of course they don’t, and even when they do they are under no obligation to do whatever it is that hte noisiest wheels demand.

They get to decide how the game works, you get to decide where you $$'s go - just like everything else in the world!

That statement is harsh, but true!
