1.) compression.
This is mainly at top tier, but compression kills gameplay. Uptiers in props are bad enough, but getting uptiered in a stock 12.3 against ARH missiles means there is simply no competition. Air needs serious decompression, since some brs are simply unplayable due to the sheer amount of uptiers.
2.) Nation based teams.
I always find it annoying to have the US and Russia facing the US and Russia in a game. Gaijins reason for compression was variety and queue times. No one would mind waiting a lil longer if they didn’t get uptiered, so that leaves variety. However, there’s no variety when you are playing against the same vehicle that you are in.
3.) small maps.
Again, mainly at top tier, these tiny maps are flat out unplayable,l. They kill long range missiles such as AIM-54s and force everyone in a tiny playing field. Matches often last less then five minutes since everyone is cramped into a tiny map and people die instantly to radar missiles being slinged around.
4.) bombers.
Bombers are genuinely a joke. Whether you reach the base or not relies on if the enemies want to intercept you or not. Bomber turrets are hard to aim, and bomber survivability is garbage. They’re boring to play, and way too underpowered in current air rb.
5.) match objectives.
It’s the same every battle. You get told to destroy bases, but the game only ends once all enemies have been killed. This leads to static gameplay, where many times there is one enemy left just camping at the airfield. There should be more objectives, such as destroying convoys and infrastructure, as well as protecting them. By introducing necessary objectives that can drain tickets, people would have more incentive for active gameplay
