So first of all, we all know this jet cost more than a AAA game these days, when it got introduced around a year ago, it was the first ever top tier (rank VIII) jet, and it did really great job in 12.0 and later in 12.3.
But since the radar on the Bison got nerfed, and new much more powerful jets got implemented in the game like the F/A-18’s in 12.7, and Su-30SM’s now, it seems like this MiG-21 Bison completely outdated and br compression killing it. Basicly youre a flying tin can in an 1959 airframe, with only 2 R-73E which is a decent missile, and 2 R-27R1 which lets just say a mid missile in its br, the jet getting constantly uptiered and every single jet outperforms a 2nd generation fighter even in its own br. I dont find it right to fight againts Su-30Mk2’s from 2006 and facing againts 4th gen fighters. (same issue here with Mirage F-1C 200, and some other jets around 12.0/12.3), the compression here is so hard most jets cant keep up in a full up tier, I’m a skilled player, having 2.1 K/D on the MiG so its not a bad jet deffinietly, but I found it pathetic and insanely unfair we have to fight againts much better jets with twice of the missile payload than the MiG-21 Bison, I just simply think, if youre up to buy a 80 euro plane, this thing WAS worth the pricetag, but nowadays its probably the saddest 4 missile rank VIII premium you can buy and most likely the worst performing top tier premium jet, and deffinietly not worth the price tag, if you can just choose a Su-30SM or an F/A-18C Early with much better missile payload and better manouverability overall.

Gaijin’s premium pack is a batshit insane level of ripoff price. That is the problem.
I would rather buy two packs of Dispatch Digital deluxe edition instead of Rank 7~8 premium jets as a gift for a friend.

The Mig-21 bison is pretty decent. How many planes have 2x IRCCM (or 4x) and 2x datalink SARH at 12.3 BR?
The airframe (still better than F4 phantom) and gimbal angle are hot garbage though.

eh, the actual platform is not the be all and end all. J-8F is fun fun at 13.0, for example, with its outdated airframe, simply due to the PL-12/PL-5EII.
