I really wanted to give this thing the benefit of the doubt, played it all the way from stock to using the upgraded missile, but it just does not perform at top tier.
When dealing with aircraft the FB10A’s effective range is about 7-8km, with 20g’s of pull and a giant, impossible to miss smoke trail even just dodging this missile is laughably easy, the IRCCM is also shit and gets fooled by everything from a few flare pops to the IRCM of helicopters and Su-39’s. This thing is only 12.0 because China needed a 12.0 SPAA, not because it’s worthy of it. Can hands down say the CS/SA5 gets outclassed by the Tunguska, let alone the TOR; At least those can kill helicopters and drones past 5km, instead of helplessly staring at them. The radar is also buggy garbage and loves pointing you at the ghosts of Christmas past, but that seems to be pretty common with these new systems (Tan Sam in particular)
The one redeeming feature of this system is Ahead, besides that, all it’s good for is killing people who aren’t trying to avoid it, and munitions.
The clips shown should give you a good idea visually of how this thing performs. I wish I could show you this thing performing well, but that doesn’t happen at 12.0, not vs Eurofighters and Rafale’s. I’m not interested in hearing why Italy suffers, the Adats clears this thing, and even the first Tan Sam hits shots the CS5 could only dream of. I think this thing has no business being 12.0 or 11.7. If anyone thinks otherwise after listening and watching how it performs, I want to hear why

ive killed helis flaring at 4 km range with it and killed jets at 14 to 16 km range pre flaring but yeah not being able to shoot down munitions is a big issue
what annoys me the most is its lofting pattern
When it comes to heli’s and I’ve watched it miss them too. I don’t think a 12.0 SPAA should have to win a coin toss to kill the heli staring at him 4km away.
The lofting is nauseating; it kills all of the speed and range this missile could’ve had
I’d be fine with 11.3. I said 11.0 at first because I’d rather play the Tor over this any day of the week, but I get it. But Gaijin dropping the ball with the Otomatic doesn’t make this actually deserving of 11.7, and the Adats can at least kill the CAS drone before it gets to launch at you

in the vid you posted earlier the ka 50 was flying perpendicular from the cs while flaring which is he proper way to flare missiles in a heli
yea it should not be lower than 11.7 cuz it would be an insult to the current 11.7 AA. Yea CS/SA5 is bad rn cuz its hella bugged (a lot of things on other vehicle is also bugged currently) so once it’s fixed, i think the CS/SA5 is should stay at 12.0 or maybe 11.7 but not lower
Do you think the 11.7 SPAA should stay there? Every time I hear about 11.7 SPAA, it’s generally always negative (Adats and Tan-SAM especially). Maybe I’m crazy, but I’d rather an SPAA be slightly undertiered and be useful than overtiered and useless. The jump from the Adats or Tan SAM to the SLM just seems monumental
11.7 were pretty ass just a month or two ago cuz it was fighting kh38’s but now that kh38mt got moved up in BR so 11.7 AA wont face them anymore and the addition of radar screen made them pretty “okay” i guess. They arent great but they are in a much better spot than before. I’d like them to go down to 11.3 but i doubt its gonna happen.

yea i agree, and thats BR compression issue. 12.0 AA is an insane jump from 11.7 AA in term of capability, i think all 12.0 AA should be moved up, but im not gona complain tho cuz top tier ground is enjoyable again cuz all CAS is getting their ass handed to them right now.
I played a few games with SLAMRAAM and its great. Aim9x is 7km no fly zone and aim120c7 is great for intercepting munition. I also notice that every top tier ground match lasts longer now cuz one team doesn’t get steamrolled by kh38 and lose in under 10 minutes.
