The hull and turret is where the mass is, not the gun.
The T-55 hull is 6.2 meters vs the 7.5 meters of the VT5.
The T-55 is smaller, but keep calling reality wrong instead of accepting it.
So the reality of it being able to withstand 100 mm KE is ‘fake’?
Also regarding weight u might want to revise how to calculate volume.

Mass isn’t dictated by effective armor, it’s dictated by amount of matter.
You are skipping the point, is it able to do so RN? No, the strongest part of its armour can’t do that, which it should be able to. And the armour is yet still be only 50% the mass of T54 hull, even considering the 7.4 m with ERA/NERA package.
