Crashes in Airbattles with Directx 12

same problems here…rx5700xt. stuttering and crashing especially in air RB (dx12).

Same problem with rx7900xtx only in air RB Ground RB is fine

Recently, I was testing DX12 on a test flight and a critical error occurred after dropping several napalm bombs.

This crash only appears when I play ARB.

Had the same issue on rx6800. Changing to dx11 helped

Yeah. Its a DX12 specific issues caused by flame models, such as Napalm and Flamethrowers but also might occur with some aircraft crashes

I have put war thunder back onto DX12 but I made sure FSR3.1is not selected and so far no crashes!

I made a little changes and set reflections to medium settings. I switched back to dx12 and play for a few hours without any crash. I am just noticed that AMD released a new driver update (25.8.1). I am using dx12 and TSA. gonna check check if I be lucky today.

Just tested, with todays release AMD driver 25.8.1, DX12, FSR3.1 native, no RT. No crashes so far. Played a couple of ARB dropped bombs and all kinds of explosions, no crashes.

Doesn’t work for me. The Game just crashed a second after I chose FSR.
Maybe it will work with FXAA.

DX12, FSR3, Frame Gen and SSAO all enabled (the settings I was using when getting instant crash with Napalm) Isnt crashing in test flight with 5x Napalm drops. So far so good.

A tad bit annoyed though it wasnt included in todays patch notes

Now that there is a new update with a fix i would again try the previously listed things top try and fix it yourself as well as make sure both the game and video card drivers are the newest versions.

The game crashed when I switched anti-aliasing, Later I will check if it crashes when I drop bombs (napalm).

I bought a new computer, but I’m using an NVMe drive that already had Windows 11 installed on my old computer. Windows booted up fine. I just had to install new drivers.

After a few days of playing, the game freezes again. This time, it happens even less frequently. I think it froze once or twice while streaming, and maybe once a day when I’m not streaming. Now it’s happening in DX12.
No error messages, no .dmp files in .game_logs folder.

Did you tab out?

Yes, it happens when I alt+tab.

I’ve made my own report using WinDbg’s analysis, but it was abandoned by the moderator. Now I’ve closed all my reports — I’m sick and tired of this situation.

Yeah. I was trying to write a bug report a 3 ish months ago, and was tabbing in and out constantly. Took about 5 times longer than it normally did because the game kept crashing.

Its been behaving itself recently though. Not had one in a while

happends to me when I play top planes, 5080. I dont want to disable dx12 since I wont be able to use RT.
