Crashes in Airbattles with Directx 12

Same issue here. This started recently pc configuration was the same for the last 3 months drivers the same etc , 5700x3d and RX 9070, was running DX12 no crashes no nothing. After the latest warthunder patches its now crashing on air battles with DX12. This is not a driver issue, one of the latest patches changed something that triggers crashes.

Not really an answer if so many people in the thread are saying that those exact steps don’t fix the problem.

I’ve had a match where both me and my friend crash in Air Rb at the same time with the same fatal error.

Which does suggest a direct correlation between match length and crashes.

Hmm… If I can be bothered later. I may run a load of matches in DX12 and carefully log things like time in match and specific action leading up to crash (for example I noticed I seemed to crash whenever I used freelook to check my 6)

That was an answer to a different issue though.

This is super interesting, i highly encourage both you and your friend to create bug reports with the files they ask for since they would then have a crash from the exact same match but on two different systems, it might help narrow down the issue.

Or a very specific set of occurrences within the match and not necessarily in each players field of view and render distance.
So instead of being, lets say, a specific skin that is bugged and crashes AMD cards when tried to render (can’t be this due to it not happening in AAB but just used as an example), it might instead be when something changes within the match, like a capture point is taken, a specific score is reached for either team, etc, etc.

I am on the 7800XTX and am having the same issue! Been playing for over a decade on AMD cards only and this has been a first… I can play prop air fine but playing any jets crashes my game mid match. Switching drivers doesn’t resolve nor does clearing caches or shaders. I think the update broke it, can only be reverted by the game. I have no issues in any other games.

Ive also noticed that it happens alot more frequently when im free looking and checking if there are enemies behind me.

yeah I have noticed that as well when I press the C key which is my free look it just goes down good to know I am not the only one.

I had 2 matches in a row in the F3 where it occured exactly when I checked my 6, but then I’ve also had it when i’ve not been touching a thing. So im not entirely sure whether its just coincedence or if there is a correlation between free-look and crashes

I think there is something with AMD as when it crashed it opened the report crash tool and alt tab back in game to be meet with Video card Hung which is some feat on a 9070xt

Necro had a good theory it was something to do with the new afterburners given that it doesnt seem to crash (at least for me) below 8.3 and at 8.3 only sometimes crashes. But guaranteed crash at 9.3+

Also, I thought i was onto a solution by deleting the compiledshader folder as it seemed to work, but only for 1 match.

But its such an annoying problem to bug report that i’ll leave it in the devs hands. They’ve got like a dozen gamelog files and metadata files from me in my report now. So if that isnt enough to sink their teeth into I dont know what is.

same problems here…rx5700xt. stuttering and crashing especially in air RB (dx12).

Same problem with rx7900xtx only in air RB Ground RB is fine

Recently, I was testing DX12 on a test flight and a critical error occurred after dropping several napalm bombs.

This crash only appears when I play ARB.

Had the same issue on rx6800. Changing to dx11 helped
