Hi all, i have grinded the new J-10 and been loving it, my first top tier jet. I have about average success rate with it, 0-3 kills, probably around 1.4 K/D and I have found my skill to improve. However, I would like to keep improving, and I think I am at a point where I know what in each situation I am supposed to do (or when I die, I tell myself what was wrong and I am usually correct), I just need more skill to execute it fast enough. I have couple of questions though:
- While watch CCs such as DEFYN, he keeps saying in many of the videos “notch & go gold and gg”. The notch part I understand, however why go gold? You will break the notch angle by doing this and will be re-acquired, no? I understand going gold when I am not in MAR (or the other, you know what i mean), because then I can defeat the missile kinetically too (or at least thats my understanding)
- J-10 afaik has a good RWR. However, i probably fly too safely. I usually keep notching and chaffing and going up/down until i literally dont see any MSL/TRACK/LAUNCH warning on the RWR. Is it a good practice or is it redundant? Yes, I would say this tactic works for me quite well as I can survice the initial onslaght of 120s, but then I am so far from the battlefield that everyone is usually just dead (in my team or the opposite). How do I know the missile is for sure defeated? What should I see on the RWR? Does it keep tracking (on the RWR) even if it is defeated by notching?
- I have seen couple of forum posts from this summer saying that they are confused about how CW tracking comes into all of this (in combination if PD, IOG, DL) and I have to say I got confused too, even though I cant really say it has happened to me that I died to it in a while. Can someone explain it please?
