Every BR update Im waitning for norfolk and york to drop to 5.3 and yet they still remain… even tho bolzano is 5.0 for some reason lol.
Yeah, i didn’t put the york in because it’s an outlier that nobody uses. ironically because it’s worse in basically every way than the county, which is overtiered itself.
Ships in general needs a compression/Decompression. Depending on if its coastal or Bluewater. Lots of ships are over/Under Tiered for what they are. Gun Caliber isnt the way to balance the Brs. THey dont really look at the trifiecta of Ships. Armor/guns/Manuv. THey jsut say gun big place here.
It’s not even that consistent, the placement of ships seems to be completely arbitrary. like, the fucking skr-7 is still 4.3, when it could easily be 5.7. the british seem get the worst of overtiering. i would love to hear some justifications from gaijin for their BR placements but that’s never going to happen.
5.7 skr man that is far from delusional. I would like to see a single argument to justify it being on the same level as prinz eugen lol.
There is a need of some decompressiom but for now it is hard to be done since many countries still have no full lineups on some BRs. Especially problematic is 6.0-6.3 area where another BR should be placed but majority of countries has nothing to fill that BR with, or they could only get a pre-WW1 ships that wouldnt be too fun to use against planes.
that thing should go back to 6.0 though, it shouldn’t see 4.7s ever.
Ships are not balanced by what they can see in full downtier. Eugen is one of the best 5.7 sure but on 6.0 it only lasted one BR update before being moved down again. It stood no chance against 6.0s and this change only confirmed that.
Some boats and ships are BR /performance nerfed in favour for “other nations”. It’s disappointing how poor the balance is.
Examples?
Oh okay then so it wouldn’t matter at all if my Daring classes got moved down to 4.3 then…
She is too good for 5.7. Simple as. She is the best 5.7. Compared to other 5.7s she has some of the best armour, best guns, and decent speed too. She should not be 5.7 with the County classes.
PT-802 This Japanese motor torpedo boat had its BR adjusted to 2.0
VTB-13 A French motor gun boat, now with a BR of 1.3
Italian 2.3 boats are in real 2.0
Elco 80 ft Torpedo Boat (USA) Adjustments to armament and speed
Bristol Type 1938 (UK) Changes to survivability or firepower
Gearing-class Destroyers (USA) Sometimes see BR adjustments for balance
Fletcher-class Destroyers (USA) nerfed due to their effectiveness
No clue what do you mean by that. Darings are better than other 4.3s and are 4.7 for that reason.
True but also magazine that is fairly easy to be detonated by Ap shells of other cruisers. On 6.0 that armor means nothing too
Good but not best, Haguro, Pola, Glorious and Duca has similar or better salvos. On 6.0 the amount and layout of those guns just sucks
Agreed. Lets move Norfolk and York down then. Lets solve problems by not creating another ones.
Ok what and how that proves anything? Gearing BR wasnt ever changed, altho it should. I dont remember any changes to fletcher within 2 years and the ship performs good. VTB13 is well placed on 1.3…
What even are you trying to say bringing up random stuff? There are ships under and over BRed in different trees but overall balance is good.
Some ships are too bad or even too good for their BR, but you see it differently and that makes you a small minority.
Don’t play stupid, you know exactly what I mean.
Well that’s lovely but what are all the 5.3s and 5.0s going to do… that’s only a problem if she finds herself on the receiving end of large calibre AP, which she won’t at 5.7… because half the 5.7 matches are 5.0-6.0 or 4.7-5.7.
15in guns, which land in different postcodes… and there’s only 4 of them
As it apparently wouldn’t matter at all to any of the 4.3s… yeah, let’s do that. I’ll have lots of fun blasting 4.3 destroyers out of the water with 8in SAP… wait, that’s a tad bit unfair.
Apparently the fact you can do precisely piss all to a Prinz Eugen in a 5.0/5.3 cruiser doesn’t matter, and you can do even less if you, god forbid, get full uptiered.
Minorities are small in general lol. But yeah thats how it works, BR system is not perfect by any means but it is not bad either.
Pointless flaming
5.0 and 5.3 cruisers are also cruisers you know… they are equipped enough to deal with eugen to some degree because well… they are lower BR
Ignoring other examples makes great counterargument. But I dont have much problems with gloruous anyway. Maps on 5.7 are small and within 8km range those salvos pack hell of a punch to cruisers.
Man it is almost like I started this by pointing the absolutely pointless comparisons in full uptiers…
The issue I’ve found dealing with Eugen in something like HMS London. Is if the Eugen is stupid enough to try and broadside you, then its an easy kill (if you have recently sacrificed a goat to the great snail in the sky and your rounds land where you aimed them)
But against a smartly played Eugen, they wont give you a shot oppotunity. Meanwhile many otehr heavy cruisers just melt from shell fire placed anywhere (I lost about 40% of my crew in the London in about 5-7 seconds of shell fire from a rapid firing US destroyer the other day), but Eugen can resist that same kind of damage fairly well in my experience. She should probably be higher than a lot of other 5.7 cruisers, especially the light cruisers.
But at its core. Its just a compression issue. Trying to balance all light and heavy cruisers with only 2 BR stops (for the most part) is never going to work
Tbh I dont see much difference between eugen and other cruisers on 5.7. Flat salvos midships drain crew fast on all ships and on angled surfaces damage is minimal. I did play southampton this week and didnt feel like it was particularly fragile.
In regards to BR decompression it can work properly only if there is enough ships to make meaningful lineups. More refits of already existing classes should be added for example.
Town-class cruiser I feel are a bit of an exception on the British TT. They are decently resistant to damage, Especially the refits Liverpool and Belfast.
Maybe. I think just moving all BBs and BCs up 1 full BR, giving you the 6.0-7.0 range to move a few dreadnoughts down a little if needed and move a few cruisers up a little. Is all that would be needed for a stop-gap decompress.
There should probably be a greater difference between something like Arethusa and Southampton than 1 stop and even more so between something like Arethusa and London. And thats just looking at one tree
Well we surely should see 7.3 any moment now.
That would result in some battleships moving up (like Malboro). But 1.0 BR hop is imo an overshot. We dont have ships to make that many lineups and battleships without cruisers AA cover would get constantly bombed. Also that makes 6.0 an effective top tier that only 3 nations would have access too… Cruisers, planes and battleships just cannot be balanced without hurting one side to some degree. Current implementation seems to work best imo
