either sabo or heat either one is the most common round
Any 8.0+ sabot will have no issue with the somua. Heat has inconsistent damage but if you aim well you can just pen the hull. Also most stuff below 8.0 uses aphe/heat
you need 240mm + of pen to go through the front plate and both HEAT and sabo will only get the driver and machine gunner same with solid shot

Separately, the Somua SM could be rebalanced but all you could do with it currently is make it 8.0 because it can’t and shouldn’t go higher

Somua used to qualify for discussions around being OP, but then they added a boat load of big HE slingers to the game and nothing melts a Somua quicker than a HE shell to the turret.

France has one vehicle that actually has fair treatment and people screech, crazy.
I gotta be honest. I have been on both sides against 7.7 France, but the people thay complain the most are people like this, essentially inexperienced players who don’t know how to play their own tank let alone deal with their enemies

People do that with the STRV103 and even Maus (fire your 75mm and they think you fired your 128mm). So funny to see. Goes to show how much vehicle familiarity and situational awareness matters in this game.
Somua is fine, great vehicle, not OP. Lorraine 40t and AMX50 TOA100 are better.
These vehicles are essentially 8.7 as they get near a 100% full uptier at this point. It’s one of my favorite lineups in the entire game but I don’t play them anymore because the uptiering is so extreme… constantly fighting tanks that have darts, stab, better armor and mobility gets old after the 67th max uptier in a row.
