Well, its more that the thrust vectoring works better so it pulls harder off of the rail.
Prove it, document says it changed wings to make them slightly better and added more durable parts
R73 should be a massive upgrade over r60m, but in game you’re correct its not that much better outside of the irccm.
Equal seeker performance would be alongside the R-74M with its dual band seeker.
The AIM-9R was an imaging seeker like the AIM-9X, it unfortunately doesn’t have any parallelswith other nations so I doubt we will see that.
seems like a terrible idea, if we’re going next gen dogfight missiles we should be seeing the asraam, 9x, iris-t and mica IR and you don’t wanna see those lol
Just like Python 4 has no parallels outside of maybe R-73M (so 2 out of what, 10-11 nations can get it?)
R-74M is imaging? Unless I am remembering incorrectly.
r73m sits in between aim9m/r73 and aim9x/r74m/iris-t/asmraam.
I’m kind of 75 (no) - 25 (yes) on a better R-73. It’s still a decent missile despite only being limited to 45 degree off-bore
aim9r was also only navy if im correct
That was the point, unless we’re going ahistorical route and pretending that the AIM-95 saw wider service than it did.
There are no options, other than the AIM-9R or Block 1 AIM-9X.
AIM-9M-10, R-73M, (actual) PL-5EII, (actual) PL-8B, Magic 2 mk2, (actual) AAM-3 are all equals to the Python 4
other than phantom and tomcat what did the agile get tested on?
The M-10 provides the Python 4-like seeker without the need for anything else
Although I would like to see the AIM-95
Please, prove the 9M-10 has any increase in seeker, guidance or missile performance. All I can find is changes to make it more durable.
And AIM-9R should come as that a better equivalent to the others
Again, AIM-9R is imaging, just like the AIM-9X it would be completely unbalanced.
unfortunate. too op for cold vehicles but cancelled too early for modern
But isn’t it the same as a 9M otherwise? At least let AIM-9 have seeker advantage if it cannot have missile performance increase like the others
