Lately, I’ve noticed that whenever my tank takes a hit whether from a missile or various types of rounds it automatically seems to release smoke, which circles around and prevents me from responding to the enemy’s shot.
I’m not sure why this is happening, especially since in 90% of cases, the smoke grenades on my MBT aren’t even hit. If you’re experiencing this too, please let me know in the comments. I’m starting to think it’s a bug that needs fixing, as it interferes with your ability to respond to the enemy. You’re the only one affected in this scenario, while the enemy, being the shooter, maintains full visibility and positioning on you, especially after disabling your mobility.
Its not a bug, smoke canisters have a chance to be detonated if hit explosions like missiles can set them off pretty easily but often only damages 1-3 canisters cause they are actually modeled as ammunition but get fired of in series (hence why you cant fire them on custom battles with weapons disabled)
The issue is that sometimes the shot hits the back of the MBT or the lower sides, with no chance of reaching the smoke grenade launchers, yet it still triggers smoke around my vehicle. This shouldn’t happen, as it never used to before!
Sometimes they are falsely set off I think, such as APFSDS hitting a track and it somehow releases smoke, which all I can say is they might have some issue with their codes.
I think this is one of the moles in the codes. People are less likely to realise it because we are dead normally when shot by apfsds but some times they go off randomly.
I don’t think it’s just bad luck. I’ve played with MBTs where the smoke grenades are located far back on the turret or chassis (like the Abrams and Leopards), and yet, even when hit in the front of the chassis, the vehicle was sometimes penetrated, and sometimes not, but smoke still randomly appeared around my vehicle as if I’d launched the grenades myself. This totally hinders my ability to counterattack the enemy when I still had a chance to return fire.
