"Could not unpack some files" error

Just did that no

Add the exception to windows defender… I also mentioned this earlier.

I’ve tried that before to

it’s not Defender, if you were running a more advance AV that might be it but defender does not block WT at all.

Were you ale to find the log file mentioned in that thread? Copy and paste the contents here (scrub for any personal info you want to hide but I don’t think there’s any in there).

It seems to me that the issue is you’re not able to run the update for one reason or another.

These are from when I first launched war thunder today (I had to make them BLK files because war thunder doesn’t support .txt files)

2024_05_14_09_13_12_8132.blk (3.2 KB)
2024_05_14_09_13_11_10516.blk (2.2 MB)

I can give more recent files if you want

is your tools64.zip file still missing from the new location? (should be in warthunder\win64)

Basically compare the two log files and see if they match, it won’t be exact, it looks like it timed out a BUNCH of times which is probably why it took so long earlier, but the main issue seems to be with that tools64 file.

2479.07 [D] $17 Couldn’t open file C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\WarThunder\win64\tools64.zip for reading, error 2
2479.10 [D] $09 LT: WarThunder partfile read (C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\WarThunder\WarThunder\win64\tools64.zip) error: The system cannot find the file specified
2479.10 [D] $09 File system error 2
2479.10 [D] $09 Stat error=1, error=disk
2479.10 [D] $09 Pausing torrent…
2479.10 [D] $09 Torrent isn’t downloading, nothing to pause
2479.10 [D] An error 5 occured

Though that file doesn’t exist I’ve searched all over for it

I’ve been trying to hint to a file access error, hence why the file error is up in the first place.

Have you even tried running the launcher as admin?

Yep

These are the latest launcher logs I can give you the start up logs if needed

2024_05_14_15_34_32_8380.blk (36.3 KB)
2024_05_14_18_20_06_280.blk (440.9 KB)

Wait, did you install this to C:\WarThunder or DESKTOP\Gaijin Hell?

(if not, make sure you try it to c:\WarThunder or at least c:\GaijinHell - one word)

$08 Update file win64\tools64.zip
38.01 [D] $08 Total 1 files to update
38.01 [D] $08 Will download 87.0MB of total 50.9GB

39.70 [D] $08 LT: Gaijin Hell: performance warning: max outstanding piece requests reached

41.98 [D] $08 LT: Gaijin Hell: performance warning: max outstanding piece requests reached
43.46 [D] Launcher window activated

It looks like it’s trying to download the file but failing, however, the reason to change it to C: is to get it OUT of your profile folder (c:\users\ %username%)

ok I’ll try

Hell no

popped up could no unpack files
guh

At this point you may want to install it into a new drive lol, or reset windows but that isn’t preferable.

I’d even check for viruses and junk that’s causing a file access problem.

I’ve tried that

and that

So uh funny story it turns out the latest bug patch fixed it some how when it doesn’t say anything about it if I am sure
