Though that file doesn’t exist I’ve searched all over for it
I’ve been trying to hint to a file access error, hence why the file error is up in the first place.
Have you even tried running the launcher as admin?
Yep
These are the latest launcher logs I can give you the start up logs if needed
2024_05_14_15_34_32_8380.blk (36.3 KB)
2024_05_14_18_20_06_280.blk (440.9 KB)
Wait, did you install this to C:\WarThunder or DESKTOP\Gaijin Hell?
(if not, make sure you try it to c:\WarThunder or at least c:\GaijinHell - one word)

It looks like it’s trying to download the file but failing, however, the reason to change it to C: is to get it OUT of your profile folder (c:\users\ %username%)
ok I’ll try
Hell no
popped up could no unpack files

At this point you may want to install it into a new drive lol, or reset windows but that isn’t preferable.
I’d even check for viruses and junk that’s causing a file access problem.
I’ve tried that
and that
So uh funny story it turns out the latest bug patch fixed it some how when it doesn’t say anything about it if I am sure
Just keep an eye on it, it’s likely not the actual patch but the changes you’ve made in trying the things we’ve mentioned.
Sometimes if you shake the baby hard enough it stops crying.
Here is how to fix it! go into your war thunder files - go to win 64 then delete aces.exe and aces.exe-min cpu! Both of them, sign out of your windows user and sign back in!
Open the folder again make sure they are not automatically restored and then open the game and enjoy. If you have any other issues let me know!
It still doesn’t want to run. i have deleted both files you listed and it still doesn’t help anything. onec i deleted them i restarted my pc and it poped up again i can’t loose this account ive spent too much time and money on it and i also love to play this game
I had downloaded off the war thunder website, when i deleted and downloaded on steam everything started to work fine.
when you want to start the game go into the files and double click “launcher” so you can sign in properly
I just had this very same error occur, but my error message included the named of the file and the directory which could not be removed or replaced. I went to the folder, located the file in question, and removed it. Though I didn’t delete it, I simply dragged it to my desktop just in case. After doing that, I re-opened the launcher and it installed the new file in it’s place and all is well. In my own specific case, the file was named “cefprocess.exe”. Figured I’d drop this bit of information here just in case anyone else needs it some day. Reading through the hopeless trial and error process above was a bit scary to look at.
