Copy Paste Premium Vehicles or Unique Premium Vehicles (Poll)

I almost feel like it would be a waste because I believe its fairly accepted at this point that the vast majority of the player base prefers domestic vehicles over imported. I can’t remember a single point in time, even back to when Germany received the CL-13 and Mig-15 Bis that there wasn’t massive backlash. While i’m fine with some imported vehicles, they should be the lowest on the priority list to be added if a domestic variant is available at a similar BR.

and it doesn’t help that there are a few players out there who a dead-set on convincing people that the Dutch Leopard 2a4’s smoke launcher array, or some obscure Canadian centurion, are unique vehicles that are due the same attention as actual domestic vehicles for that tree.

C&P premiums are 100% better. But they also have to be used by nations that have a home in it.

I’d say the Senrai maidens would be a great example if they had done what they did with China at the start. Make it so the Senrai was on a tank China used. Sadly, Germany has a tank so fake under this it’s nearly as bad as the ones removed. A German flag on a tank never used, using the name of a completely different variant(a 2A4M and a 2A4M CAN not even look the same). Not to mention how 90% of the tank it was based on was first added was connected to a different tree in-game.

So, well, Clickbait, 2A4 OTCO, etc get a pass (even if there for the “grind premium,” there should always be both sub-tree and host tree options.

Elsa’s 2A4 doesn’t, as it’s the biggest insult to injury due to a premium that implies a different history than the one found in real life.

I have to disagree with your approach there. I’d rathe a tree get a vhecile it designed, like:

than be forced to take on an imported vehicle from a subtree

Subtree additions to tree should be assess by at least two criteria:

  1. Do the subtree Vehicles provide a capability that the primary tree could not provide on its own?; and

  2. Is the vehicle a functionally unique addition to the game.

Ideally vehicles should pass both tests, and at the bare minimum, they should pass one (but event that is scratching the bottom).

I would rather not see more premiums that outright insult their operator nation by suggesting every part of their history is wrong.

Just a reminder:

Royal Canadian

Royal in Canada can probably be given out by the one representing the Canadian Monarchy; aka, if it was anything of importance(museum, school, military, etc.), it’s used using royal due to a royal giving it to them. And the Canadian royal family is the same as one in a different tree. So the pre-order title suggests a very different history.

The original decal

Before it was replaced by the generic snow leopard it was this, and let me tell you, it also has connections to a nation that isn't Germany

Calling the 2A4M CAN a good premium is, in agreement with Gaijin, that Canada is a GERMAN colony under the monarchy of Germany.

Also, every German main that called it a good premium (and all Leos belong in Germany) demanded every aircraft not used by Germany in the same update. So if you want to agree with them, go ahead; you are also agreeing with their claim on the Swiss and every other European nation.

Would be perfect if we had a 2A4M premium, but we don’t; we have a 2A4M CAN premium. The CAN part is imported as it has add-on armour assembled to custom specs Canada requested.

I would rather have the C&P premium vehicle come out from tech-tree ripoff

Unique premium vehicles are causing the problem, such as ‘I forced to buy it if I really need to operate it’, locked behind a paywall.

and if those unique vehicles are underperforming drastically,
Gaijin generally discontinue them, and those become locked behind [inaccessible paywall]
Then we all need to suffer from FOMO and a non-discounted price (sometimes 30% discount) for these.

So, for a premium vehicle, C&P one is better than a unique one.

(If we exclude the balancing issue about BMPT for arguing’s sake)
Senrai/Clickbait/PzBtl 123/and BMPT is not a bad addition as premium because you can play vehicles with a similar role without paying for these.

While Sea Vixen could be considered as bad premium because there are no tech-tree counterparts which supports similar role.

Senrai Maidens aren’t copy-paste; they’re a unique variant of existing vehicles which is more preferred that rare vehicles.
However, copy-paste premiums are preferred to those as well.

How in the world can Senrai Maiden not be considered as ‘copy-paste’?
Because of some random 3D assets that can be attached via 3D Max or something?
Or because of some random textures which made by AI and had watermarks on them?

Do Senrai Maiden vehicles have a major spec difference compared to their regular variant? - no
Do Senrai Maiden vehicles have unique ammunition which regular variants cannot access? - no
Do Senrai Maiden vehicles give players a unique gameplay experience compared to their regular variants, except voicepack? - no

They are refurbished copy-paste premium.
Just like WW2 packs. copy-pasted vehicles and retouched with extra graphics.

In your theory, M1A1HC Clickbait isn’t c&p of M1A1HC thanks to the silly white plastic chair.

Yeah I agree the Elsa Leopard should have been a 2A5, Canadian leo in general should be in the UK tree as a tech tree vehicle.

Copy paste refers to the base vehicle stats being copy pasted, not the visual design/model of the vehicle. As I said, I am all for that and would like to see more tech tree vehicles with visually interesting, unique models used as premiums. That way the rarer and prototype vehicles can instead be earned by everyone in either the tech tree or events.
