I remember that, did they make that change this year or last year? I do understand things can stall the development of something, just wish there could be a little more communication regarding the addition of things. I’ve been dying to get a jeep or HMMWV with some form of offensive armament for a while now, and I have absolutely no idea where it could possibly be in terms of development, or if it is even in development. I do understand though, communication on where something is in development is not entirely possible due to the sheer number of things that could be getting developed.
yes i wait for a HMMWV with kornets a long time or even milans i dont care
From the first day i started playing war thunder i wanted to see greek vehicles. i am proud that i am greek and i love seeing greek things in games, especially military games. even tho i’d love to see the greek subtree (although its in israel) and grind for the rafale, phantom, and the leopards ik that it wont be good for the game, it will just be another copy paste sub tree, it would be ridicilous for israel to have leopards. if this keeps happening for another two years every country will have the same vehicles with a few exceptions. Instead of taking entire sub-trees and adding them to countries, why not make smaller events featuring vehicles that were actually designed and produced by those countries, rather than imported or purchased from another nation?
Greek has rather few copy-paste options.
& their first addition since their sub-tree announcement is a unique Spitfire.
Hungary has 22 unique vehicles out of 44 total vehicles.
So currently half of that sub-tree is unique, & it’s the only sub-tree in War Thunder that was majority copy-paste originally.
A tad few problems.
-
Making them events would make it hard for a majority of players to obtain due to demanding either being active in a specific timeframe, millions upon millions of sl for a shot a event vehicle (could be different from the one you want) or market cost (or in the the case of console players completely inexcessable).
-
Some trees rely on subtrees to plug gaps within lineups that sometimes even the domestic options cannot.
-
If someone was specifically playing for a certain nations vehicles, they wouldn’t be able to use them together in a lineup due to being split off (something Spain, Canada and Poland all currently suffer from with Singapore likely joining them).
-
What would happen to domestic vehicles? Where would the Swiss Mowags go? (Wish there was a independent Swiss-Austira tree but alas).
-
May still not solve issues since the USA can still get Object 478BEM1, Israel can get Mi-24V “Mission24", Germany can get the Challenger 130 mm Gun Demonstrator and the UK can receive the M41 Bulldog (Perkins CV-8) all without subtrees if you are dead set on preventing any variant of a nations vehicle going to another.
Greece has unique leopards and other unique stuff it will not be a simple c&p if gaijin do their job correctly
no, most of them will stop to 2-3 different MBT , Britain wont take anything else than the Aussie Abrams, what other TT you thing will get something from everything?
I was excited when greece got announced now not so much because i was hopinv to see it within the next 2 updates and its been 3 or 4 updates and i an tried of playing warthunder because theres nothing new to try and grind every update its russia get a new anti air top tier aircraft or top tier tank america gets 4 or 5 new vehicles and all the smaller naitons like Italy and sweeden get 1 or 2 vehicles and israel usually gets nothing or a 30 bushmaster slop vehicle or some overtiered aircraft and no new weapons or bug fixes just slop i have no hope for the smaller nations in the game right now because they always get the bare minimum for new vehicles its always the same thing over and over again
greece has plenty of unique stuff to offer to the game?
not to mention plenty of spaas, ifvs/ light tanks both unique n copyslop which israel desperately needs.
same goes for jets (mainly top tier), israel lacklusters there as well.
also kinda late bud, by afew years now. half of the trees have subtrees that lead to “copypaste”
not adding greece wont change anything, just another “copypaste” subtree will take its place.
and its too late to revert the whole “copypaste subtrees” as a whole. since they are already a good chunk of the game.
Me honestly, I dont agree that premiums should be unique. I mean it’s different if the difference is some decorations or camo, but I think it is worse to lock things behind a paywall for F2p players (like myself).
Let’s take the f14D for example. Many smarter players that dont by into gaijins schemes will probably never have the f14D considering the dev himself said no plans to add it to the tech tree. The f14B is pretty close but if the f14D is ever problem implemented it could be a decent upgrade from the already fun F14B. I mean it was a highly requested aircraft now locked behind a paywall. Or take the t58 as well, those are cool vehicals the are now limited (which im glad its limited to be honest because even as an American main myself it seems OP lol)
But I want to see the general consensus about what the community thinks about it
- I disagree and think premiums should be unique and have effort in them
- I Agree and believe that unique vehicals should not be locked behind a paywall
- I want a mix of both
- I don’t care what they do
I think you are missing another aspect that clouds the unique vs copy-paste premium discussion, domesticity
I agree that copy paste premiums are a healthier way to go, but, especially when it comes to the “flagship” premiums that get advertised on the store front and at the bottom of dev blogs, I think they should also be designs that show off what makes that country special and unique, where possible
That is what’s so disappointing about the BeNeLux pack premiums that now dominate the store, they are neither French nor even frankly BeNeLux in design
