Constructable Engineering Defenses/Objects in Infantry
Since the first army stopped moving long enough to hold ground, field-constructed defenses became just as important as weapons themselves. Soldiers have always shaped terrain to survive piling earth, stacking sandbags, cutting firing ports, and hiding positions from view. These defenses didn’t need factories or long supply chains; they were built under fire, with whatever materials were available, and often decided whether a position could be held or not.
Over time, these improvised works became more specialized. Sandbags and earthworks absorb bullets and shrapnel, turning open ground into cover. Heavy machine-gun posts and dug-in emplacements let infantry dominate approaches and deny movement. Camouflage nets and concealment systems break up outlines, hide muzzle flashes, and protect against air and drone observation. From WWI trenches to modern forward operating bases, constructable defenses give infantry the ability to turn time and labor into protection and firepower.
For Warthunder Infantry, constructable defenses could add a strong tactical layer beyond pure movement and shooting. Being able to build, upgrade, conceal, or destroy positions would change how battles flow encouraging planning, teamwork, and counterplay. This thread is here to collect ideas: historical examples, engineering manuals, balance concepts, and creative implementations. If it can be built by infantry, provides protection or concealment, or shapes how a position is fought over, post it here and help form future defensive-structure suggestion posts.
