This has to be removed. Console players are now abusing this mechanic by popping smoke and using the auto tracking to shoot through there own smoke at targets they CAN’T SEE and get kills. Works on planes and tanks.
If consoles players need that much help, they need to be in their own lobby or EVERYONE gets it.
Is this allowed in your eSports tournaments? Do you allow console players to track a target like they have radar?

Good luck if you can get the targeting to work because I never have in 3 years unless I don’t want it to work when I am trying to target a tank 30 feet in front of me.
You don’t aim directly at a plane any way you aim in front of it even through smoke.

The tracking only works in tanks against aircraft which is fine because screw CAS, or are you trying to say tanks that are popping smoke are shooting through it at your tank.
Pray tell… What would you be tracking through smoke? A helicopter?
Everyone does get it. Called Target Tracking (ground vehicle). Only works when you can get a lock on a vehicle, so not in Ground RB.
If you go into smoke you lose the lock the feature doesn’t work. Gaijin can add it features like that for acessability, fun, or whatever they want really. It’s a video game meant for enjoyment, not an ultra-realistic esports title…
Honestly, I’d prefer it if PC got the same feature for SPAA, rather than removing it for console.
It does not work on tanks in ground RB, it only works on planes in ground RB.
And even then it’s hit and miss if it does work. When you want it to work it doesn’t and then when you don’t want it it does. I removed the key bind for it because it kept locking to planes when I was trying to aim at tanks. Nothing more annoying than trying to zoom and all of a sudden your turrets doing a 180 to look at a plane hitting warp speed in the other direction
I suggest that you try the game on console with a controller first and then discuss this since you’re clearly an ignorant regarding how the target tracking works.
