Community Update No.8: Responses and What’s Coming!

u didnt get the joke do you @Apvalus(u really delete that)
i dont think SK users would be viciously outrage
since they would not careless about NK being with SK since gaijin would definitely put SK as the main tree and NK being sub tree
SK players wouldnt mind, they would get more vehicle to play with, they wouldnt care if the NK vehicle are bad, they would still focus on their main K1 and K2 mbts
and NK players? well…

Some ppl just don’t like sarcasm or some counter logic in their project.

After last patch in hangar and sime map very low fps and freeze

I look forward to his sekrut dokumunts leaks.

personally i dont see why its gonna be bad
given that

  1. There isnt a NK that would disagree with this
  2. More vehicle for SK player → they wouldnt care, since their vehicle are mostly and definitely be the main tree
  3. Easier for gaijin → no NK feedback = less work for them, they would just do minimal modelling for NK while would definitely focus more on SK vehicles bug report

“muh politics” nah i dont think any SK would care about that

im curious what gaijin will do with the NK MiG-29s armament, with their local AAM for their migs

is there a public spec for their domestic arnaments?

Many trees do not need renaming f’sure - can’t see much changing for US, China, France, Germany…but already in this update we are apparently going to get a “Korea” tree with both ROK and DPRK - so there’s already intent along these lines

I’ve raised a suggestion but it isn’t visible yet - there’s plenty of possible options for some, fewer for others - but immediately obvious is “Levant” or “Eastern Mediterranean” for Israel+Greece+Cyprus, also UK tree with Sth African, Australian, Canadian and other vehicles is easily seen as “Commonwealth of Nations”

Sweden could become “Scandinavia” without much bother IMO

Other obviously possible future trees include South-east Asia, South America, Subcontinent (for possible Pakistan, India & Bangladesh), and of course the ever popular Visegard :)

And I’m sure there are other possibilities people have in mind already

probably not

gaijin would probably do a “standard specs” or give it different arnaments because of “compatibility” then

There’s a major problem with adding new tech trees when existing ones aren’t complete or have significant BR gaps.

  1. It creates yet another balancing nightmare.
  2. We already have too many copy-paste vehicles filling tech trees.
  3. It doesn’t add real value — it’s not an exciting new feature or game mode.

Instead, here’s what should be done:

  • Fix the BR gaps. For example, there are multiple AA vehicles around 10.0–11.0, yet some nations have nothing between 8.0 and 10.0, or the ones they do have are terrible.
  • Add more lower-tier vehicles to existing tech trees, like the Israeli line.
  • Fix the in-game chat system — it’s long overdue.

There are so many issues that need attention, yet the developers seem to ignore them. Long-standing Ground Forces bugs remain unfixed. Many players have already given up on the game, and even well-known content creators and community contributors have stopped playing War Thunder as their main game because of this nonsense.

Please, fix the existing problems before adding flashy new content. Every new feature just introduces more issues — and history shows those fixes rarely come, even after ten years.

->okay what does that have to do with SK and NK being in one tree
you know that im right, so u throw me a different issues instead
but yes i do agree with this points you made in this reply that im replying to
but then
re-read first sentence(marked with arrow)

So lets add SK and NK tech tree, till there was war, if not then what is difference from China and Singapore?

thing is that, china has many variety and domestically produced vehicle, they also have taiwan sub tt
they dont need another sub tt being singapore
does china need a leopard, an abrams(gulp. taiwan having M1A2T) or more western equipment? They have huge variety compare to SK and NK

SK is basically Japan TT in a nutshell, they dont have lots of vehicle(BUT i am not sure of this)
NK is a decent addition as a SUB TREE to SK
and if war being an issue then you might need to ask why gaijin add polish vehicle into german tree

Still just a bandaid on a festering problem that is only going to get worse the more that is added to it.

They really need to rework the whole progression system.
Maybe make it based on vehicle lineage and development rather than nation-state. Instead of factions, you have 5 trees of the different vehicle classes, and in each one you have each model and submodel grouped together.
Do away with factions in the MM for random battles since they aren’t historical anymore anyway. Use vehicle lists like in current Sim, WWM, and EC for more historical lineups and matches.
yes I know, never happen.

There is more than enough sufficient content (on both sides) to warrant a full TT - besides the majority of positive feedback, a Korea TT has always been a popular idea as far as I can tell.

I personally don’t see the point in the criticism that I’ve seen here today.

There’s 1159 replies and I can’t read them all to see where the thread went, so here’s my opinion on post #1;

  1. Great that you guys took on board the feedback (some would call it backlash) regarding the Singapore vehicles to China statement, and were willing to start again from the planning stage.
  2. Not great that you’re planning to split Singapore between multiple tech trees, this has previously been a significant point of contention (see; Canada).
  3. Greece & Cyprus for Israel frankly makes no sense at all. While it’s difficult to add Greece as a minor nation with restricted options for TT growth, a combined Turkish & Greek tech tree (however controversial it may be for them to be combined) or some sort of East Balkan tree would make more sense in my opinion. If implemented, hopefully this will not simply be used as a way to copy & paste stock BLUFOR equipment into the Israeli tree. I would suggest that Israeli captured equipment be added for now (plenty of Rank I and II available), with Egypt as a personal favourite subtree candidate.
  4. Good to hear that you’re focusing on domestic Chinese and Pakistani equipment for the China tree. Don’t let the naysayers dissuade you from putting the M1A2T in the China tree, it’s a shared PRC/ROC tree and the T is a service vehicle.
  5. United Korean TT is a very strong choice, implementing DPRK equipment in particular will be a challenge but I wish you the best of luck. Very good avenue for the game and for breaking into the SK gaming market.

It’s really cool to get this much information in an official post, looking forward to seeing what you guys produce in the upcoming double update period which I can only imagine is busy as hell every year.
