I see so it needs to be a Cockerill turret, my bad. The one I posted was on the precursor to the LAV chassis which is the LAV-300 but this one is on a V-150 Commando Chassis (M107 in US Service iirc).
A very small update
- Pandur II 3030 with a Thales Belgium 7x70mm rocket pod
- Rosomak XC-8-105
- Patria AMV CSE-90LP
- Nimr’s 8×8 robotic combat vehicle RCV Cockerill 1030
- Type-X robotic combat vehicle (RCV) CPWS II
- Arquus MAV’Rx 4×4 protected patrol vehicle CPWS 25 gen. 2
For 2 of these three vehicles information is exceptionally scarce, only the one from Thales Belgium is featured often in old articles. The Rosomak was often wrongly named by some people on twitter/X, but also by the Polish defense press, which often confused it with the XC-8-120HP variant or the CT-CV 105HP variant.
Edit: I added 2 robot-vehicles with Cockerill turrets (Estonian project) + one more Arquus-Cockerill project.
Oh right, I forgot the most crazy modern Cockerill weapon system:
The Tank Boat
Originally intended to be used with a Cockerill 3105 turret, the Indonesian goverment who intends to use this Antasena-class combat boat, expressed more interest in a Bushmaster mk.44 30mm-armed one.
Another interesting find is the Wildcat Anti-air system which was also trialed with a Cockerill CM 90 turret:
This time it’s a render for a vehicle which will be shown in a couple of days in madrid:
Minute, T. (2025, May 6). Turkish defense contractor to present new PARS ALPHA 6×6 at Madrid exhibition. Turkish Minute. Turkish defense contractor to present new PARS ALPHA 6x6 at Madrid exhibition - Turkish Minute
Should the vehicle be actually built instead of a mock-up, I’ll add it to the list.
All of Kokereil’s turrets are interesting.
However, it would be even better if a version with Hard kill APS were also available.
More vab mk3 variant are always nice.
What is the difference between the CSE 90 and CSE 90LP turrets? And how can they be distinguished aesthetically?
So the CSE 90LP is a more recent version of the CSE 90 with modernized sights, thermals and such (no stabilizer) and they can be distinguised by the small cheeks on either side of the gun mantlet on the CSE 90, which are absent on the CSE 90LP where the slope starts immediately on either side of the mantlet, as seen on my very poorly made drawing
Definitely seems like a CSE 90 to me
It’s that in this publication they put it in the 90LP section, that’s why I got confused, but it also seemed to me that it was the normal version for a 90s vehicle. they have to fix that.
Is there no publication that discusses the standard CSE 90 version? Since the company is currently promoting the 90LP version, I’d like to see a spec sheet for the old turret.
I have this pair of images of the CSE 90 that I got from Janes, but I would like more information or something more official.
That’s my mistake, I couldn’t find a picture from the front, so at the time I based it on the modifications found on the back. I will amend it soon.
The current Cockerill website only has info on the turrets they’re currently selling, but let me look in the archived website
This is all i could find rn, been a while since i’ve looked at that
