Both Air RB and Ground RB are in dire need of a complete rework. 10 year old gamemodes that were made for WW2 vehicles are just not cutting it anymore (well for years now, but better late than ever). Is there any chance we get a rework for them?

For Air RB simply reducing the player count by 25% or whatever isn’t going to cut it. Maps like small Spain, small Afghanistan and City already suck so much at top tier, I can’t see it getting any better with addition of ARHs. It’s getting unbearable.

Personally I don’t need ARHs, new planes, new tanks, or any new content. I just want current gamemodes to be fixed so that I can enjoy them again. For ARB there are maps already in the game that can work, but I think for GRB only one or two are suitable for top tier and a few more would have to be created (or not, I don’t mind playing the same two maps over and over, I played Counter Strike on the same 3 maps for 2000 hours and never felt like I needed more).

I appreciate the transparency, and I want to believe that these “specifics” are something more than reducing the player count back to 24, but I am starting to lose hope.

What am I supposed to make up from that? A daily bonus so it already seems some sort of watered down version of an outright increase in RP but rather a temporary boost, similar to what we already had in the past with an X2 multiplier that was removed, and now all this big talk around a feature that seems even worse, also going to separate all the modes so ground players won’t benefit from their progression going into air and vice versa either.

This game is already way too desperate to get you to play daily, demanding hours from you, and now we’re going to get like a 6th feature that demands our time or our daily bonus goes to waste, like our daily task, our second daily task, our battlepass progression, our special medal progression, our warbond shop progression, our squadron vehicle progression or our event vehicle progression?

Oh I pray to Almighty Snail that something is done about the player number…
With Fox3 coming in next update, top tier with 32 players is going to become very very messy and disorienting.

If it matters, top tier, currently 12.7 and possibly 1 BR range lower (so 12.7 to 11.7 range) battles should be reduced to 10v10 (In my humble opinion, there should be test in events tab with various team sizes and after testing the players in theory should provide feedback on the forums). So there’s my two cents.

But I will say… This is a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one!

I agree we need a asymmetrical attack & defend mode for ground.

I had a air RB game at 8.0 the other day. Enemy G.91 went and hide then we we all hit the airfield he strafed us direct without turning and got 3/4 of us. He wasn’t hit by AA even when flying in a straight line. The bases AA systems need to get more accurate as aircraft get closer. Especially airfield AA batteries.

Yeah, its not like they said event will have interesting vehicle and it was least to say, not interesting at all

I already sent in ideas for improving/fixing/changing ARB once in one of those forms, but nothing came of it.

This is a bit of a double edged sword. It is nice to have another ground vehicle event, but Naval event is for many a break from the grind, so the break is not happening this time.

Also, I would expect the reason to be revealed in an article like this, it is not like you would spoil anything. If it is the case that vessel for Naval event won’t be ready in time or that you have more Ground vehicles ready, just say it.

Where is the proposed helicopter damage model… I’ve not seen this get mentioned once since it was mentioned months ago. helis are in some serious need of this damage model improvement because having helis survive several kgs of explosives is not on.

Again and as always (and since years we said this) communication is still big PLUS for everyone.
The road to comming back after the big drama (last year?) is still long, but it is good to see that devs aknowledge and “try” to fix. CM are doing their job by not letting us in the void.

But… i still note that some importants questions are not asked or maybe avoided for devs. And it concerning for the balance sake.

  1. Why Devs still want to compress at below BR instead decompress at higher BR? Mostly since players are asking for decompression now since years.
    The previous BR is the typical exemple of the current compression, Old 9.0/8.7 going down, making suffer previous 7.0 to 8.3. while even worse 8.7 are still at the same place (for ex: venom, mystere IV)
    At the current moment for 3 BR change with compression, we only have 1 BR change with decompression (new BR at +0.3)

  2. If Devs want absolutely compress at below range, then why we still not have a matchmaker at 0.7 (instead of 1.0)? This could help, Balance for matchs at every BR range of the game, balance during BR change, Balance will be more suitable with compression.

  3. Why devs still not rework their matchmaker? Games outside of War Thunder have a matchmaking which adapt to different settings. (ping, elo, mmr, etc), in the case of war thunder, why we can’t have the same system but based on BR? When matchmaker start, matchmaking at max 0.7, if matchmaking exceed 30 seconds of research, BR spread automatically switch to 1.0. Could help to have more fair match, during peak time population.

  4. With so often BR compression (which show a problem), why devs still not rework the whole BR system once for all?

  5. Why Naval mode and Air Sim are still let in the dust? RP rewards are just abyssal in these mode since the nerf of economy (2-3 years ago). The time based reward in sim is an issue currently.

He said many planned features are on time, so this is likely one of them, if it was planned for this phase.

Not surprised to see the reaserch bonuses being delayed again. Gotta make money on the premiums cpming out this next update first right?

I get that but considering the “detailed modules” got pushed forward out of nowhere when they announced the helicopter damage model improvements before ever announcing detailed modules has me questioning if its even being worked on.

Helis atm are the bane of top tier and need some serious balancing. forget detailed modules, I want helis fixed

I have to admit, this is a bit confusing. When you write:

And of course there is no way to get any answer on our English forum. Maybe on the Russian forum this matter would get answered, but unfortunately, I don’t speak the Russian language.

To be honest, I only see our English-speaking Community Managers answering easy questions that are well known from the news and other translated sources (like changelogs).

That’s why I wonder, do our English-speaking Community Managers even have a direct access to the devs? Can you ask the devs directly about some specific things that are unclear? Or can you only translate official Russian news to English and that’s all you can do?

Because if the devs only care about the feedback on the Russian forum, why translating this irrelevant part to English? I understand it looks nice, but you know, actions matter, not words.
