CLOVIS in the Simulator Battles Lineup 8_2

It simply shouldn’t be there. A 5 second reload HEAT-slinger with Laser Rangefinder that’s fast and has good gun handling isn’t balanced in this lineup, as there isn’t a single counterpart to this on the red team. DF105 is also questionable, since it’s natural counterpart is the Obj.906 which isn’t in the red team lineup.

TLDR: CLOVIS doesn’t belong in this lineup, it should be removed for balance sake immediately.

Clovis is undertiered AF.

Agreed. Vehicles of comparable capabilities are often 0.7BR higher, if not more. It doesn’t matter it’s not HEATFS, on the contrary, it’s 105 HEAT does very good damage. It often one-shots even things like IS-4M, which is a problem in a Sim loadout characteristic of heavy tanks. It fights tanks with APHE that can’t detonate on it’s paper thin armor too…and as said, same goes for the DF-105 minus the LRF.

HEAT breaks the armour meta of that BR range and its got a coax spamcanon to kill everything with less than 40mm of armour with ease. Im shocked that they are so rare considering what they are capable of

yeah no looking at the lineup the clovis & DF105 absolutely mog red side. i’m suprised theirs no amx13-90 for france for this lineup considering the AML is fine and it’s a bit of a downgrade to the DF that matches the era better

Having played a few games, the DF105s were devastating our team until they “died out” or became over–extended and then also died. It’s ridiculous how much better the DF105s are compared to anything in red team, and like in RB nowadays - speed, reload time and reaction times also play a big role in Sim which is full of city maps. The CLOVIS is just one step above, basically being a DF105 with LRF and 20mm autocannon makes it that much more OP. It should be only in Lineup 8_2_2, where it is at least kind of balanced, along with the DFs.

PT-76-57 should be 8_2_2 as well

Honestly? Not really. At least at this lower BR it meets much more armored targets which it cannot pen frontally, unlike in 8_2_2. Plus seeing one is very rare, they’re basically collector vehicles.

Laser rangefinder, stabilized rapid firing 57mm gun… I say it is pretty solid counterpart to CLOVIS.

The thing is, the 57mm gun is let down by it’s platform. Not to mention we’re comparing tanks with 2 different roles. The CLOVIS (and DF105) can take on anything head on, the PT needs to do a risky flank - and it’s kinda too slow for it.

The problem with all these complaints is that there will ALWAYS be a very good vehicle in EVERY lineup… If you move something up it now becomes useless since its outclassed.

Ground sim would be far better with rotating BR ranges like Sim EC (with a 3? BR range to keep out the noobs), that way vehicles that are hugely overtiered would get a chance to be competitive once in a while… Who will play the ADATs in sim ever again?

This would also fix the frankly stupid choices that have frequently been made. There are 2 Type 16s in 10_2 and 1 in 9_2… you can ONLY play them in 1 game each and they’re the SAME VEHICLE!

Point this (and many MANY others) out every time there is a BR rebalance and it’s ignored :(

Not to mention every vehicle needs to be MANUALLY added to sim lineups… EFV still isn’t in… this happens every event!

Yes, two different roles, but according your own argument (auto-loader, laser rangefinder, and stabilizer on top of that) the 76-57 should not be there either.

@HeliBoy I think that the rotating BR range would be even bigger mess then currently unmaintained rosters. It would require massive BR changes across the board to reflect vehicle performance in SIM and it would cancel any hopes that Gaijin would ever take and advantage of the roster system to create immersive battles for the SIM community.

For example the could easily add a rosters a top of current rotations which would more accurately capture real battle scenarios, meaning: no prototypes, captured vehicles or some sub tree vehicles which are normally attached to opposing block (GDR, Taiwan etc.), vehicles from completely different era.

There are already enough vehicles to make nice truly WW2 setups or very nice col war setups from 80. (operation Flashpoint) which would be balanced and truly immersive.
