I think missiles have mini jet engines

Some missiles such as Meteor has ram jet engine but PL-12 doesn’t have it. Unlike Ram jet engine solid rocket motor doesn’t require external oxidizer, the fuel contains both oxidizer and fuel(which can save space). Solid rocket motors use a thick paste like fuel which once ignited can’t be put out but Ram jets can cut off ignition I think.

Now the question is do we have good sources for the motor because all I saw were meaningless range numbe. There was one with head on scenario specified but tertiary at best

Hopefully, that report combined with this report that says the missile is meant to be 214 kg should be more than enough for them to realise the missile needs a revision

Nope, given the fact that it is still 3rd gen and seekers are heavily nerfed I think it won’t make much of a difference. Not worth it.

anyone know what seeker head base pl-12 uses? I want to say it uses base r-77 seekerhead but not actually sure on that

I dont think its known tbh, the SD-10 (predessecor of the PL-12/SD-10A) used alot of RU component, afaik it should be a 9B1103M analogue for it. Idk what the SD-10A/PL-12 use
