Launched at Mach 1.3 10km alt at a standstill target at the same altitude it only reaches some 80km last i checked

What’s the parameters for PL-12 range test? It’s more like Mach 1.2 at 8km alt no?

should be mach 1.2 10km alt head-on or something like that

Actually yeah was mentioned in the interview thing. 80km is definitely achievable for now. Haven’t been able to test 120km cause maps aren’t big enough.

Please stop using brochure range without context. If its big number its never given as crossrange but head on target seperation at launch and useless for reports

Seems not.

Are u sure those parameters are correct and u haven’t added any launch angles?

Check your start speed.

Should be Mach1.2 no? That’d be 1440km/h. If not 1500km/h.

Dont misundetand me. Im not using any range stat? I just said roughly how far it is capable of flying in a straight line atm

No. Mach 1 is about 300m/s at that altitude.

That’s not how speeds are calculated though. Except from WT everyone uses just the sonic speed at standard conditions. Cause otherwise various issue come along.

That’s not quite right. Mach number must be calculated based on the local speed of sound; otherwise, it could lead to serious misjudgments by pilots regarding the aircraft’s aerodynamic limits. Likewise, when missile design specifications mention Mach 4 or Mach 5, they’re actually describing the airframe’s high-temperature tolerance at those Mach numbers, rather than indicating a specific speed.

bigger motor means LESS volume for the fuel (I don’t know how solid rocket motors work and I think missiles have mini jet engines)

Anyway, have the official cross-section of the SD-10A
