Turns out in that video the hull was rotated backwards. So it was actually driving forward. But I think I have seen a picture of it’s gear shifter. I need some time to find it again
Since the VT5 is an export tank, shouldn’t their reverse speed be advertised?
Probably but I dont think they show reverse speed in brochures. Most of the brochures I have seen so far didn’t show reverse speed.
The video itself only talked about its usage of a turbo charged diesel engine, with its power to weight ratio plus the maximum forward speed of 70 km/h, no mention of its reverse speed
oh
What’s the ‘30’ they were talking about? I saw 30 in the subtitle
At what time stamp?
I think they are talking about the classification of different tanks based on weight, with 30 tons being a certain threshold
It’s part of the laser warning receiver system
Btw at 8:00min what was the guy talking about? APS?
(Second video)
Prototype VT-5
Yeah they were talking about the APS
But why they showed smoke grenades instead of APS. They did the same thing in both videos. Does that mean it can install APS system in the place of Smoke grenade?
VT-5 can be used with GL-6. It depends on how much the customer pays. As long as the customer needs aps, China will install aps for you to use. :)
Where do you get smoke grenades from? Nowhere it is mentioned in the footage here.
It literally says active protection shell/rocket here.
just before showing the APS clip they showed smoke grenades(First video). Also the tank in that clip isn’t VT-5 it’s Type 90IIM(GL-5 testbed) I think
Well because the VT-5 the reporter interviewed with did not equip the APS, possibly it was too sensitive to exhibit it at the time. The narrator does say it can be fitted into VT-5.
