China Need More Decent Pack Rather Than a 3-Year-Late Rank VIII Tornado/Su-22M4

Don’t get me wrong, the new JH-7A pack is indeed good—I’ve pre-ordered one. The Chinese tech tree has long been lacking a Prem aircraft that can both grind bases and hold its own in air combat. Having such a plane is a significant boost.

:(

(My only gripe is that Gaijin only tried to improve the JH-7A when they decided to sell it as a pack. I mean, seriously? At BR 12.3, with only four IR missiles without counter-countermeasures, it’s been nearly unplayable. It won’t be usable until the next update when it gets the PL-5EII. This struggle and torture lasted almost two years, and Gaijin only addressed it when they were ready to sell the pack. Countless bug reports and discussions were ignored, making all previous efforts seem like a joke. But that’s another story and somewhat off-topic.)

However, this new JH-7A shares the same issue as many other vehicles introduced to the Chinese tech tree: it’s late—by about 2–3 years. It’s been 2–3 years since premium packs like the Tornado and Mirage were released. Now, what kind of top-tier packs are most nations getting? Fourth-gen fighters like the F-18 (US, GER, GB) , MiG-29 (IT) , JA37 (SWD) , F-16 (ISR) , and F-2 (JP) (including the upcoming premium Su-30 for the USSR). In comparison, a premium JH-7A with IR missiles is essentially a “jet ver. 288C”—something that would have been relevant three years ago.

This is something I’ve always wanted to complain about. Just like the NF-5A pack the French tech tree received last update, these vehicles aren’t “unplayable,” but it’s like serving guests cold food when it was meant to be enjoyed hot (for our Canadian friends, in China, serving hot food is a sign of respect). You can’t say it’s terrible, but the Chinese tech tree shouldn’t always receive content that’s years behind (like waiting three years for a Pantsir counterpart, the CS/SA5).

So, when will the Chinese tech tree get a decent fourth-gen fighter pack? (The French tech tree, too, by the way.) I’m really looking forward to it, and I really hope the release of prem JH-7A is a supplement to make Chinese tt catch up with other trees rather than a “FINAL ANSWER”, but please don’t make Chinese tech tree players wait another three years for cold leftovers. Otherwise, it’s just disheartening.

Yes, so far all CN prems are still fighting with IR missiles even at rank 8, just C&P the Su-30MK2 over already, China was the launch customer and the Venezuelans came later!

Both are $80 aircraft, but the Su-30MKK can operate the R-77 missile, while China’s JH-7A can only operate the PL-5EII. Both cost money, so why is the Chinese aircraft experience so poor? They could have easily produced the J-8H as a bonus aircraft, but the development team created a disgusting plane that struggles to even exceed Mach 1.2.

If it wasn’t so obvious… The message that was written in Chinese has already been dealt with and deleted.

I’ve read the post, maybe next time it would be nice to show some respect to the people that keep it clean.

Additionally, your own message is rule breaking, maybe you should give the guidelines a good read.

Comparing the JH-7A to the Tornado or Su-22M4 is like comparing the F-20A to an F-4C.
The JH-7A should be primarily used as a fighter, if it weren’t for F-16A and F-18A being the same BR as it, JH-7A would be a top-3 flight model at 12.3.

I hate to agree with razervon, but he’s right. The JH-7 is a better Mirage F1 that’s .3 higher. I’ve only flown it in the test flight, but the JH-7 feels way better than the F1 which is already a good underrated fighter. Plus with all the complaining I see about China not getting Chinese vehicles I’d have guessed you guys would’ve been happier with this than an Su-30.

Chinese player would be very very happy if this can be provided in time. We know this is a nice made in China vehicle, but it just way too late.

I’ve completed the Soviet air tree using the MiG-23ML, and I’m about to finish the US air tree with the F-20A (currently researching Rank VIII).

Next, I plan to start progressing through the Chinese air tree (currently around Rank III).
To be honest, the JH-7A doesn’t appeal to me at all — it feels like a vehicle with no unique characteristics or real purpose.

I really hope Gaijin introduces a more impressive and distinctive premium aircraft for the Chinese air tree in the future, rather than something that feels bland and unnecessary.

You get the point, Mirage was introduced like 3 years ago, like, I’m not saying it’s bad, but just too late when everyone else’s getting 4th gen fighters, Chinese TT get a large Tornado/Mirage.

I mean, when everyone else’s getting all aspects IR missles or even with IRCCM, China got none,
now 4th gen packs or packs with radar missiles shot from 10km, China gets this.

We all pay 80 bucks for a rank VIII pack, why Chinese get out-of-date pack?
Again, It’s not uneatable meal, but cold meal. 3-year-late

Just bring a J-10 Early with capability of shooting PL-11 and everything’s OK…
No new model, everyone’s satisfied…

I get it. But right now France has the Mirage F1 and an F-16 squadron vehicle that only gets IR missiles.
China at least gets a better F1 and a squadron vehicle with active radar missiles. China probably should have gotten something better, but its in a better place than France. Israel too I think?
