that bump is because it was no longer the only 9.0 mbt for the lineup. it was actually OP it would have moved up half a decade ago now.
Its not even the stupidest change. F-15 to 12.7 is maybe the worst BR change in the whole time ive played WT
tbf i have bullied them in 5.3 tanks before after accidental uptiering. they are far better tanks but nothing the gun cant deal with

the win rate went above 50% about the time all of the 10.0s got moved up to 10.3. And now its stuck in the same spot again, the Chieftain is forever doomed to be farmed by Leopard 2s and T-80s it flat out can’t hurt.
So these tanks went from genuinely entirely playable, very ENJOYABLE vehicles, that were basically perfectly balanced, To now second fiddle garbage no one is going to play. In a single update.

I have a better win rate IN MY BLACK PRINCE, than any Chieftain. and from my glancing at the stats, Im legit one of the best MK10 players on ANY server.

you have almost 900 matches in the black prince and its a very strong tank once it gets to the fight. of course your winrate will be good
pick a better comparison in a similar kind of BR ecosystem like the mk3 centurion, which you seem to have ignored since spading despite being very good
The Mk3 Cent was good when it was 6.7, now its mediocre at best. The shells are bad, the mobility is bad, the armor is bad, the only “Good” part about it is the Stabilizer, which isn’t the god send most German mains think it is.

I dont agree. At 6.7 it was undoubtedly best. Stab, good pen, decent fire rate, and some armor. It’s removal from meeting T-34-85s and tiger 1s with shermans is a good thing.
its mediocre at best. Its armor is not perfert, yet it has no mobility and has questionable cannon. I do love 17pdr but at 6.0? nah no way its better than Panther`s cannon. In fact, Panther might be better suited for any role Black Prince can take.
my 7.7 lineup of centurions does more than fine
shell shatter is lame but you pen almost everything wherever you shoot
it does its top speed no matter what. its steady and gets places fast enough
armour is more than enough
a two plane stabiliSer on a MBT is still a decent advantage. its just the slow speed stabs on shermans that are really overrated

i mean its not that no one is going to play. Its that they were pretty balanced and no one thinks it was necessary. Its good as 8.0 wont meet it tho, it was pretty hard to deal with using APDS or APHE with unstabilized cannons. But i dont thinks ts bad for heavy tank to act like one while plays against lower tier.

The problem is that now its Comparable tanks are now going to STOMP on the 8.0s because the Chieftain was a HUGE balancing factor in that Br range.
I fear for any 8.0 coming up against a T-62 AM or T55 AM now that they don’t have any APFSDS support outside of a couple Light tanks that can’t get in there and brawl it out with the Russians. The Chieftain could absolutely brawl it out if need be.
i mean… there are plenty APFSDS shooters at 8.7-9.0. Pattons, Centurions, TAMs ect ect ect

Compression makes all 9.0s oppressive on the 8.0s, they all should be moved up together in a decompression drive
I’m not convinced that is correct, I can’t remember seeing another source which states the Sundance engines produced 840 hp. Also if Chieftains were rolling around with 840 hp engines in 1978 then that would have made the Chieftain 800 program in the early 80s completely pointless. Why would they re-engine a chieftain to have less power than what the current engine provides?
