Chieftain 900: Royal Ordnance’s Chieftain

bit BS to keep it at 9.0 with no armour, fake round as well as incorrect layouts as I said I believe it’s based off the MK5P which couldn’t even store darts

What about laser warning an chobham ceramic armor? I don’t get brouchure but we can see it on this material: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylbA1HdZHsM

Started testing around with this thing… and what even is the point of it?

Its barely more agile than the Mk10, it has the same top speed, worse armor. The same shell.

Why even take the 900?

When the MK10 is just it, with armor that can actually tank a Dart to the face and not insta die. Yeah sure it accelerates like .2 of a second faster. But that isn’t a plus.

Anyone who thinks just getting progressively faster tanks is Good, is just pure COD Brainrotted.

I mean in game yall already are GARBAGE at making tanks FEEL like tanks, my Challenger 2 TES jumps 10 feet in the air when hitting a small ditch at like 25mph. A 75 TON TANK.

the mass is correct ingame, it was estimated to be 56 tons

Ideal then we just need to wait.
I was unaware if the weight that was put down was to be the weight with or without the concrete.

As then we don’t know the weight with the chobham.
Nice sources btw that’s sick

it’s 52kph on the dev server

what about laser detection system and chobham armor?

Chobham was never fitted

LWS was also never fitted IIRC, and was also optional, which is for gaijins desicion (decided against)

Ok, it isn’t fitted but in brochure they want it :) This tank is prototype :) Few post before i posted polish material about tank - i don’t find that brochure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylbA1HdZHsM

I believe more conclusive information has now been found: Community Bug Reporting System

A Cheiftain MK.10 with L23A1 and the correct 850hp engine would be a dream to play

Perhaps we could see the MK.11 as well later on

The report has already been passed (and merged with an existing report). It will just depend on the devs outcome after it has been reviewed.

Hi Smin,

Are you able to share any information regarding the Cheiftain Mk.10 getting a horsepower buff based off this report?

This would also slightly alter the MK.3 and Mk.5’s engine power

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/kBDyXv4H7817

Thanks

Add the armour report in there too.

Give the legacy Chiefs the armour protection they actually had. The devs made the C900 using the correct armour layout they should redo the old tanks.

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/FJjJrYjXgq2J

That would be good too

The tortoise also has completely wrong armour ingame as per another report, it should be significantly better in many areas

Excellent, the chieftains frontal hull armour is actually really decent can shrug off most APDS in game due to its shaping.

Can even shrug off early Russian darts due to there poor angled pen. Mostly at greater ranges though.

The armour fix essentially doubles the effective armour thickness in most places (see C900 vs MK.5)

I’m sure this is a marketing lie though.

Hello

It has been forwarded, but there is currently no new update to that at this time to provide.

Lets be honest now.
It really shouldn’t exist in game,L23 has been now.proven to be fabricated.
If balancing tbe vehicles is such an issue then they can lower or increase BRs.

If they would like a round to toss about and balance with , use the L15A5, you know the round which was used up until CR1 rolled into service.

A completely unreal piece of ammunition just isn’t really good of gaijin, as well, it’s pretty odd then how they dont just generate their own made up munitions for various vehicles.
Why just for britain.

L15A5 is already ingame on the Shir 2, the only issue is that it has identical performance to L15A3, despite being a newer and more effective design in real life

Im well aware it is.
But it’s penetration values are incorrect so they could literally use that to replace L23
