That would be ideal, assuming we know the shells irl values
Chief, given that conclusive information has now been found, is there an intention to replace L23 with L23A1 on the vehicles that have it?
I’d like to point out that for the second report, @Flame2512 went to the trouble of creating an FOI report for confirmation from the MoD that;
- L23 is the category, not the round.
- The first service round in the category is L23A1.

Hey, as above, it first needs to be fully reviewed by the developers:
Given the complexity involved also in terms of balancing, it might take some time until replacements are located that permit the tanks to remain where they are, or if further BR changes are needed in order for them to receive different shells than those that they already have.
So it wont be something changing in any short term timeframe im afraid. For sure not with the incoming BR changes.
L23 fake and L23a1 are pretty similar in performance, it cant be that big off a deal can it?
Please read the remainder of the post:
i did read it mate.
sure the extreme angle is better but i cant see it being BR changing in improvement. against the expected targets, it will perform the same.

Chieftain MK.10 and 900 are all inferior in pretty much every category compared the T-72A/M, even worse when you look at ZTZ96
Worse Firepower
Worse reload (and its a manual loader so the reload is EVEN LONGER)
Worse round
Worse mobility by some margin (less so 900)
same BR as the damn Khalid which is actually mobile, now the Chieftain 900 is the same BR as its equivalent with 144% the horsepower and identical firepower and protection
While yes they perform well, they can’t go to 9.3 with much superior vehicles until others move up themselves, which isn’t happening
They are going up in BR currently precisely because they perform well. That is the aim of the BR increase, so that they stabilize.
I really wish Gaijin actually looked at vehicle performance and not just player stats
Perhaps if the Chieftain series’ top speed (and many other elements) were accurate, the BR increase would not have been found necessary.
Mk 5 could always get its LRF and move to 9.0 to bridge the new 8.7-9.3 gap.
This is just evidence that British players are better than the three majors lmao
They’re the best performing tanks at 9.0.
Also, at 9.0 there are some clearly inferior vehicles when compared to Chieftains, like T-55M, Object 435 or T-55AMs.
With ground especially, being forced through the hell of APDS, does mean most can aim better than those that have the luxury of APHE
Please do enlighten us how would you look at and weigh all the different metrics vehicles have in an objective way. If this has any chance to work, you’ll have to show us is it better to have, for example, one second faster reload speed or 3 HP/t more or 60mm added pen on your best round or gen1/2/3 thermals, etc.
Remember to present objective facts, not your feelings and opinions.
I’ve seen many people saying what you just did, but no one except one person (@rainy2000) even tried to lay down all the different metrics and apply weighing to them.
C900 is 9.3 now too
because british mains are making mid tanks work amidst the sloppy players of that BR range.
all the stats do is prove a skill gap and not a vehicle overperformance
Fairly easily.
Looks at chieftains top speed very lacking
Acceleration I’ve pushed a trolley further faster
Armour literally they don’t even have their correct armour and are killable from all angles.
The apds is just average and HESH is not modeled.
They’re performing better than vehicles from other minor nations too, so skill definitely isn’t the only reason they perform well.
Thanks for your objectivity.
?
They are just objectively worse than most tanks at their br. when you actually look into it
