Chengdu J-10, History, Performance & Discussion

That is depends on which variant Snail planning to add. Id say there’s no reason for them to no do “the funny” and add initial batch with Russian Saturn AL-31 engines

this will be not fun. but considering that they already overrated top flamkers, it’s not that beyond expectations.

Gszabi said on MTG Discord that there is still a chance, but a very slim one.

What part of Smin said China won’t get air do people not realize. He is very likely to be better informed than the playerbase. If he’s just trying to manage expectations I get it, but putting false hope back into people is pointless. Just give up, the update isn’t about China.

Which is quite frankly stupid that J-10B isn’t likely to come, same as F-2A.
But I will refrain from complaining further, since this isn’t the first time I’ve seen Gaijin make questionable decisions.

Other leaker on MTG Discord claimed that J-10B is supposed to come days before the DEV stream too. It seems that Gaijin changed their plans at the last possible time to delay it.

☹️

What about the J-10B makes it unsuitable in comparison to Rafale and Eurofighter?
I’d wager that J-10B actually makes the J-10 platform a competitive option between them.
I don’t get it.

Radar, new engine, IRST, new air intake, maybe pl-8B, A2G weapon.

Yeah, but is any of this outright superior to EFT and Rafale?
No.

In fact, the Rafale variant coming to the game is with AESA radar and is the F3-R, which entered service in 2019.

I’d almost think that J-10C would need to come.

Or they were never intending to release it now and were getting ahead for future updates.

I’m happy that German players finally get useful top tier fighter, and that French players get the Rafale, which is one of the famous fighters of the modern era.

But I am confused as to why Japan does not get F-2A, why China does not get J-10B or J-11B this update.

They are merely equivalent, if not worse in some aspects.

Without weapons, there is not much use from AESA on Rafale. The J-10B would be better than the Rafale in ranged combat, but worse in melee, with the EF-2000 on the contrary, better in melee, worse in ranged combat. In terms of maneuverability, he would not be much inferior either. And when new weapons come, like Mica IR, meteor, etc., there will already be J-10C, J-16, J-15T and other Chinese aircraft. At the moment, the J-10B would close the need for top-end aviation

We’ve been told Submarines were not planned to come anytime soon by Community Managers yet we already know they’re working on them as we speak. Just because a CM said something doesn’t make it entirely concrete as they only function as middle men for Developers.

Even if the chance is slim, we can always get the J-10B last second just how we’ve also gotten the Mirage 2000-5Ei last second as well.

I think they were going to, but apparently they don’t have time. Maybe, if they have time, they will add it anyway, at the very end. Or maybe he won’t make it to the last carriage and will go to the next major upgrade

So they were right, and you should have listened to them.

Gaijin themselves said we would never get afterburners, air to air missiles, rank 5 premiums, so on. I believe Smin in this case.

I sincerely doubt they were ever intended to make it into this update.

But I just don’t see the point in it in the next major update, I’m sure the theme will be new top-end Flankers, judging by the leaks, su-30cm, j-11b, maybe j15, f/a-18C

Specifically, smin did not refuse, he only said that the main focus of the update was on those countries that had not had new aircraft for a long time. Perhaps they are still making it and do not know whether they will add it in the end or not. It’s hard to say anything before the update

Su-30SM, J-11B, F-18’s, possibly also the J-10B subsequently. Who knows. Trying to make sense of Gaijin’s decisions will only rot your brain.

All that statement does is somewhat agree on what I’ve already said, Gaijin is very indecisive when it comes to things and therefor there is indeed a slight chance the J-10B could be implemented even if it’s near 0%.

What is there to achieve from arguing over such a topic? This isn’t something which is positive but rather negative, you should honestly use this time pushing Gaijin to make good additions rather than debating if something will be added or not.
