dosent matter for top speed

is the j10c worth playing or no?
Been left to rot since it was dropped. Stupidly bought it and the crew last night thinking it would be good. Reading this post it doesn’t look like it.
Heh, you’re talking about TAS while im talking about IAS which actually matters most of the time.
I just finished a game with J10C with new engine.
Acceleration feels better while it can actually reach higher top speed on deck in cost for more fuel consumption which is a major problem considering J-10C has very limited internal fuel.
Did it with 20min fuel plus 2+2 a2a configue ( stock pl8 and pl12 )
Wing rip at 1604 kmph.
Here its actual speed at 560 meters with full a2a loadout.
Actual speed drops to 1499 after couple seconds, forgot add that part to clip.
In practice you will not reach 1500 kph IAS with full loadout most of the time because of the nature of ARB.
In Air RB, it’s quite a powerful fighter at the moment. However, this aircraft should avoid dogfights and be played in a BVR-oriented way, where the PL-12 can be used more effectively than the AMRAAM at medium-range BVR engagements.
I played a few with the j10C and stopped, its the deffinition of mid IMO. Bought the golden eagle to try the D’s… that’s deffo in the bin too.
What a weak update… the future of war thunder (lack of) is on display.
The Golden Eagle is also an incredibly strong aircraft—I highly recommend it. If you check the last two days of logs on StatShark, you should be able to see that the AIM-120D is an excellent missile. Personally, I think this update is fantastic. The 120D is extremely strong in BVR combat, and probably the PL-12A as well. Dogfighting isn’t really necessary anymore.
If the stats have improved im guessing its because people are trying out the bad new additions. Many lobbies are filled with bad jets and stock opponents RN.
The D’s still cant hit a 12km high wobbly AF euro fighter notch at start of game , all i need to see
Thats sounds like cope
Also at the moment the F15C ge is mostly fighting j10c and j15t and sometimes eft
J10c or j15t doesnt really stand a chance against an f15 ge especially in jousting because they dont have enough chaff
Eft can walk on the f15 ge but the 120D does make it a little harder for the eft to re commit
Im the one flying middle at start lol.
R77-1 and 120-Cs are still the only missiles that im getting hit by… been mindless rushing 12km alt spam for last 2 hours or so as cooking. Euro fighter wobbles and its hard to notch at 12km but still pull it off way more often than not. 120 D’s changed nothing IMO
Not surprised its a eft it has best fm in game
It would be the same outcome for any other jets fighting the eft with the exception of the rafale and su 30sm2
Sitting at 12km alt in any jets in my opinion is pointless because everyone can see where you are and you end up becoming the target
Now idk how fast you are when you launch and the distance between you and the target but yeah
And at that altitude every time he recommits you can just launch another one at him and try to close the gap
Rather than all this I’d like to hear your opinions on the pl-12a. To me it felt like no better than pl-12 at 14.3 to 14.7 and I still don’t know how the j-15t is sitting at 14.7 with these mediocre missiles and bad cm count.
PL12A got a lot more energy from what i can tell and it pulls 38G i like it also J10C with WS10B is cool lots of thrust does anyone know its TWR now ?
As in what? The boost stage of PL-12A is still the same as PL-12, what has changed is only its guidance time. Plus the 38G was the same as PL-12 vanilla and if you have j-10a you know how PL-12 in 13.7. Still the worst in terms of bvr and only mediocre in ~15km.
The PL-12A hasn’t gained more energy—it’s essentially just a PL-12 with a new seeker. The perceived improvement is mainly due to the new seeker adding HAOB functionality, which enables missile launches outside the standard off-boresight limits. The PL-12’s overload unlock capability was already strong, but with HAOB support, it’s now significantly more noticeable. Similar features are also present on the AIM-120D, R-77-1, and MICA. The PL-12A still struggles considerably against distant targets.
When using the 120D, you should try to keep the target illuminated in TWS mode as much as possible, maintaining an uninterrupted link between the missile and your radar. This significantly increases the hit probability of missiles equipped with the new seeker. If the TWS link is lost, its effectiveness becomes not much different from the 120C.
Min fuel, no aim9, launch from around 40- 60 km usually 10km- 12km and going 1.6- 1.8 mac. Not even using the aesa either… as its got the usual dusty GB skins. Go back base if survive and load normal loadout, most of the time i dont get smoked and/ or mess something up with launch we win before i can even get back into the action.
Only play this way with the EF (BVR spam straight mid) easy way to get the battle victory wager as the few times the EF doesnt impact the game its getting carried by the rafs. Id guess it gets around 2 kills a game average while using no brain…but hard to say as sometimes ace, sometimes nadda
Issue is J-10C and J-15T doesn’t have gimbal so it’s hard to do the same as the other jets.
