well, I didn’t completely spade it, just did it until i got the pl-12s.

Imo its actually really good, pl-12s are better than I remember as an arh missile.
The only annoying thing for me is how this thing absolutely guzzles fuel. Gotta bring full fuel each game and sometimes if i get into a dogfight early while heavy, it just screws me.

Well sitrep update please?

From my experience the radar is definitely simultaneously an upgrade and a downgrade, an upgrade to its ranges, which in all but EC maps doesn’t even matter and a downgrade to its max gimbal angle, which absolutely matters.

The J-10A allows you to notch-while-tracking, just like the SM2 and the Gripen-E, but more limited in action. The J-10C on the other hand doesn’t.

It has a better gimbal though? I’m able to lock up till 90 degrees. Old one was 85 max

Wait what? Updated to 90deg? Now you got my appetite up again.
Thanks, gotta recheck. Last time twas 70.

That’s elevation only though. So it’s higher yes but side to side smaller. But having it be 90 degrees up is really nice

Uh, okay… the side gimbal is what matters if you want to notch while guiding your missiles.

Why? You can just turn your plane

Good for crawling, but bad for high-alt ops style, which now I’ve switched to.

Guess it’s time to turn off radar stab.

Yeah I have manual radar controls enabled so it’s easy. But if you have the automatic stuff on then yeah it’s kinda useless

For one second you re-ignited my hope since I was planning to get two SV planes during the 5-day SL-vehicle sale and not been playing the 10C. Guess ‘‘twas just my wishful thought lol.

So now you’re gonna notch horizontally?

Cmon man, having side gimbal Is better than vertical elevation.

It would have been at least decent if you could actually use the HMD elevation to lock 90° hobs while rolling, but It doesn’t work so yea the radar Is both and upgrade and a down grade

Yeah, it’s not a straight upgrade but it’s not a downgrade either in terms of gimbal limit. I find it a side grade

you cant launch any of the ordanance over mach 1 thats what makes it so anoying

full thoughts after spading the flight performance of it (didnt spade ground stuff but idrc about that stuff)

Goated ass plane.
pl-12s are amazing, good but not amazing pull and good range. just decent all around missile.
I don’t understand the people who are saying its bad, its missiles are goated compared to 120s, quantity of missiles is good, good flight performance with good acceleration, and best of all its radar is amazing.
Countermeasure count is a little low, but maws helps make each chaff really count, and youre able to consistently 3 chaff any fox 3

my current mod list

as for ws-10b id bet theyre saving that for a pakistani j10ce, hopefully joint pakistani/bengali tech tree soon. china would be able to get aesa eurofighter through bangladesh lol

It’s really something Gaijin would do… just changing one engine and passing it off as an entirely new vehicle, forcing you to spend a lot of time researching it. The current J-10C is a chaotic jet. it has the latest missile pylons and ground-attack pylons from 2024, but the engine is actually an old one from 2014, and the aircraft model is also modified from the J-10A.

I’m more inclined to believe that Gaijin simply didn’t put any effort into these things. They were busy working on new game modes, and this major update turned out to be a complete mess—not just the J-10C.

If you are talking about 120C then yes, the latter’s capabilities has been ass. But I scrounged for the “disable radar stab” earlier today but did not find how to turn it off in either option or the keybinds. Would rather use the old 85° radar as it’s less intensive, i guess.

For now it’s only better than the AMRAAM and vanilla R77. R77-1 somehow got more rocket burn and guidance time, and along with Mica these two are the goated AAM.

Would rather see that WS-10B on this exact model. It’s time that the Snail really put effort into it, and stop treating so-called minor TTs as trash (I’m talking partially about the treatment Brits got before the typhoon), especially as post-cold war China should have become a major TT.

Mind you WS-10A’s model has been already implemented on J-11B. It shouldn’t be that hard to copy the model, change some key data entries such as max cruise thrust and WEP thrust, weight and fuel consumption, then cram it into J-10C’s fuselage. Granted that the export Z-10ME is more advanced than the older batches of domestic Z-10, so much that the PLAAF only started recently to upgrade their own to the ME standard through MLU, but I would rather see J-10C had all its upgrade – save the PL-15, as it’s not suitable for now, but including the re-engine – to the game, and with Bengali/Pak skins.

Considering all “upgrades,” sidegrades and downgrades I still consider the J-10A instead of 10C as the GOATed one, and the 10C’s changes (unless it gets PL-12A in a similar manner R-77 gets its upgrade) was inadequate to promote it into 14.3. Time to swap the engine and implement the PL-12A to this specific model (and stop selling a J-10CE/CL). We have seen J-10AE already and the Chinese TT doesn’t deserve this abysmal treatment. If the Snail is concerned about the balance, then keep this radar in its current (and still not accurate) config, it’s worse than Gripen-E’s one anyway. And Gripen-E is 14.0.

I‘d rather they buff PL-12, replace some PL-12 in low br with SD-10 which has current PL-12 performance, and add realistic PL-12 with about 1000m/s dV
and keep the 1200m/s dV PL-12A for future
