Chengdu J-10, History, Performance & Discussion

Have you been under a rock? The f15 has been more maneuverable than the su27 since the base models of both were added, the su27 only had an advantage on its first dev server. The f16 is better than both of them.

Last I checked the F-15’s only advantage against the Su-27 is turn rate in regards to a dogfight but that doesn’t say a lot for us. The R-73 makes the Su-27 quite potent and even without it is no slouch. Moreover, it seems the Su-27’s are currently underperforming and are due a buff.

Apparently Su27 should have more lift than it currently has, I saw someone saying it is underperforming cause the vortex thrust is not given correctly in game, but I have no idea cause I don’t have a degree in aerodynamics :D.
Also I heard about a double fault of AIM9X missing a Su22 in middle east, any truth?

Su27 should definitely have less low speed drag, that’s its biggest issue, I have no idea about anything regarding aim9x’s though.

Apparently it’s IRCCM works by locking onto the second hottest target, but Su22 had expired flares and therefor were actually less hot than the engine, allowing the lock of 9X to be transferred to the flares, kinda accidental.

That’s kinda hilarious

Wrong cause right outcome…

I assumed we would get the Rafale, eurofighter, and j10 all at the same time, so we might get a better version along with the other delta canards. Personally I’d like this version.

I’m pretty sure the only way you’ll get this is an event vehicle.

AIM-9X has an imaging infrared seeker which basically looks for a picture of a plane similar to the Stinger’s UV/IR seeker or Strela’s photocontrast, it ignores flares completely unless an absurd amount of them is dropped so as to completely mask the plane’s image (which is why BOL pods are considered effective due to the amount of countermeasures they can dispense), so the only logical reason for the AIM-9X to fail would be a mechanical failure.

Even then, its impossible to know what really happened, but failing against older Soviet flares is unlikely.

Anyone know what kind of IRCCM can be expected on PL-5E II and PL-8B?

I remember something about having a 4 something seeker, i could look for it in my sources.

Does the picture get taken in the visible light spectrum or which part of the spectrum cause the IR imaging and visible imaging as I imagine would be very unclear and perhaps using a different wavelength might help.

I doubt a double fault will be due to mechanical failure otherwise some one has been seriously scammed…

“The latest variant, the PL-5EII, is fitted with a dual band, multi-element detector as well as a laser proximity fuse found on other modern Chinese air-to-air missiles.”

classic gsh-23-2 with 200 rounds

I can never aim that gun

I know the J-10C and CE were equipped with HMDs and the J-10A was equipped with the same HMS as the Soviets, but does the J-10A have an HMD? Also, if the J-10A was equipped with HMD, what kind of display do you think the HMD would be implemented with?

J-10A 's cockpit and HMS sensors.I think that the J-10A have not HMD and still need to install additional aiming devices on the helmet like Russian Fighter.
