Chengdu J-10, History, Performance & Discussion

14400/8.1=1777.78kg, this is the most reliable figure.

I don’t think this is dry weight though?
If we go by 8.5 then it is approximately 1694kg

Gaijin for some reason use really weird figures for engine weight ingame

Dry weight definitions differ by country.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Gaijin would accept this as an explanation
But yeah, both China and France is very strict when it comes to calculating engine dry weight.
In War Thunder the WS-10A is also heavier than AL-31F.

Here is the official document outlining the national standard.
HB 7497-1997 航空涡轮发动机重量的确定 - 道客巴巴

If Russian documents could be found, it would make it easier to compare the differences.

Yeah…

^This can be also incorporated into a report maybe to help them understand

Another table that vividly illustrates the differences in standards.

This could be very helpful

So according to this document
if we use the most reliable number
14400/8.1
we get ~1777kg

then it would be actually lighter than the AL-31 under the same Chinese standard

Since the external components are also probably lighter, I would estimate the “empty weight” (one that gaijin uses) for the WS-10B should be somewhere between mid 1500s to 1600kg

so under 100kg heavier, not 225kg like it currently is

is there a reason why the J-10C cant carry the same amount of LS-6 glide as the LS-6 ir ?
being limites to 4 when they both are the same bomb and only seeker is different is kinda sad.

could help with the grind

theres no reason just likely gaijin forgetting as no one uses standard glide bombs a lot and no report has likely been made help with grind no 10 cant take out a base if i remember

Whats even in that link
I just dont know where to go

It’s Yamahagi’s issue post. I have no clue

National standard of aeronautical industries: HB7497-1997 Standardized Methods to Ascertain the Mass of an Aircraft Engine.
Yamahagi used this to explain how the empty and full mass of WS-10 was measured and recorded, and thus how the current mass data filled by Gaijin may be wrong.

Two hours ago it was published that they changed the engine from the J-10C to the WS-10B, does this mean that in the dev server the engine was not yet implemented and they only changed the visual model?

The statcard was changed from day 1 (both name and thrust output)
