Tear gas is a warcrime btw too but it’s a reasonable exception for in game is what I meant, ahem flash bangs on the other hand… oh yes please
I see what you where saying. I would be fine with chemical weapons in game I made the post as its a tool that can add to game play and forces you to think. Tear gas / pepper agents would be a useful low level tool around a policing / anti-terror equipment line.
Cant wait to throw mustard gas at the corner campers just like in BF1
When the Soviet chemical weapons hit just right
yes they did used these well-known ones, and there’s many cases about someone found remaining xxx gas and cause unexpected public hazard incident(most at northeast china). it’s like, american landmine spread in Laos
if u r interested in rumoured chemical weapons, i suggest u to do an investigation at related museums in China. or maybe u mixed it up with the bacteria weapon
I know that one I mean post war. There was the post Matsumoto incident that did result in Japan plus the USA and others making and using small amounts of chemical weapons for testing of detectors and scanners in order to prevent such an incident again but such activates where internationally considered okay due to its goal. Sort of like how some very small amount of weapon grade plutonium is allowed to be made for special tasks related for safety.
thats interesting and i know very little about it, but it seems too far away from now. we re still testing infantry mode. its like adding the tanks exist only on the design drawings when this game was still world of planes.
but above all it’s never too bad to reserve some possibility, chemical weapon itself is a optional update in game mode
I am making sure there is ample space for conversation in the infantry mode WiP section for ideas around what could be added so people can make suggestion post as soon as possible. Otherwise its just a lot of complaining about not being picked for testing. I was never picked but I will find things to get people thinking of what’s possible.
Its not a good idea, as players could abuse to do some war crimes. I think using gas is a warcrime
Cluster Munition was tested during the Atomic Thunder Event for the anti-radiation missiles. I guess Gaijin is going all in.
Enlisted WW1 mode (WarThunder infantry’s brother / sister game) Has gas attacks for the event.
I don’t play Enlisted but take it as you will. Gaijin has the code done so they might want to use it.
Could hold Mustard gas or Sulfur mustard gas WW2 vintage.

massive amount of information concerning USA chemical weapons (shells, ammo and stuff) and other nations will update as I find more:
Doing some reading on shells and have a bit of a question concerning the 75 mm M2/M3 gun since its based off of the Canon de 75 modèle 1897 and could fire and shell from that shell family. Would the Sherman / M3 Grant to be able to fire chemical shells (Gas Shells) of that 75mm family? I have seen documents of chemical rounds for the 75mm even USA shells but no reports of them being tested in tanks. Would it make sense for the Sherman to get the shell for the context of infantry?

From what I am reading from Old Chemical Weapons Refence Guide its the same shell family used for smoke screens but could be loaded with a multitude of other fills so I guess it could work in the 75mm Sherman or M3 Grant.
You mentioned this to me just now in the police poll, and I had to check it out.
YES I AGREE ALL OF IT. FEED. ME. CHEMICALS.
Seriously though it fits the game completely and goes perfectly with some of the stuff I was just taking about. MOPP, EOD, etc.
I will be ÜBER disappointed if the game doesn’t have use of phosphorus when playing the U.S.A.
[How could Gaijin not add stuff like this? It would be INACCURATE]
Dont forget WarThunders sister game for there WW1 event had gas and a gas mask system. More easy to balance then you think. Bring Gas kit of or picking → put on gas kit when exposed —> have de buff because you have a gas mask on —> win? Don’t bring gas kit weigh less but your done for if someone brings gas or you get the cloth trick.

Ya its more easy to balance then people think. There are plenty of training manual stuff out there of makeshift to full protection. (makeshift is basically wearing everything from the janitor closet and leaving contaminated areas not ideal but better then nothing) But it would be fun to lob chem rounds from Sherman tanks 75mm as chem rounds for the 75mm existed for the 75mm gun before the Sherman even existed.
I’m not a shell nerd but from my readings Shermans cannon was back compatible so it could happen. Same gun as Saint-Chamond Canon de 75 modèle 1897 which had a chem round and USA copy had one as well.
If Battlefield can do it, no doubt War Thunder can too.
Lol, and that’s just stuff from WW1/WW2… Imagine all the possibilities for chem war there are.
Cackles violently in, agent orange.
Obviously, that was a joke and will never happen as this game is still trying to be relatively T-rated.
Plus, it would be quite tough to implement generational cancer and birth defects into the game lol.
we got flame throwers I don’t know how a death cloud could be worse.
Which is why basic phosphorus is a relatively easy add.
On the other hand,
Yeah, that’s probably gonna go to the “generational cancer and birth defects” part of the whole Agent orange thing.
That does not count and would have no game play value Agent Orange is not like chlorine gas shells. Agent Orange is a defoliant and does not really stop anyone in the application sense.
Game rating wise we got bullets, explosives, and fire. All “knock out” a player Chemical weapons would do the same. Therefore no age rating issue same as AK47.
