Changes to the Naval Enduring Confrontation Mode

oh mine were jsut a little bit less sad (it was a 2[me and the other guy left] vs 4 [ONE guy stayed and we brawled it out])

Okay but that’s fine? Irl ships just aimed dead center to guarantee a high hit chance because of the long ranges and uncertainty in the rangefinders. You can just do that yourself by measuring the ticks of distance in your binoculars form the aiming red arrow, like say the front turrets are two ticks to the right while watching with binoculars so you just adjust form there. The adjustment for the range is the same you’d need to hit the ship dead center.
But apart from the technicalities of it all. What’s there for a player to do then? If the gunners take into account everything then it becomes a hold mouse on ship simulator, no?

And that would be the tradeoff for adjusting the exact point of aim. You have a higher chance to miss, but at the very least you’re getting a proper firing solution as opposed to just eyeballing it.

MASSIVE W, I am super happy to see this. Naval EC is good for ships and hopefully it can grow now that it’s a permanent mode. I hope that in the future, when there are enough players, it can expand to cover BRs below 3.3 as well.

Si si ho capito, a quel punto metti la mira automatica e ciao

I won’t play the new EC. It is grind unfriendly. Smaller maps with guaranteed bot composition is better for spading capital ships.

Why don’t we get something similar to the current air sim mode? Not just rotating BR brackets so that everyone can have their ships at the dominant BR once a week (assuming the brackets change once every 2 days as in ASB), and also give us the possibility to choose which match you wanna get into like in sim too, allowing us to join already running matches if we wanted to, which in turn would reduce the amount of bots per match too

Hahaha oh man wtf is this. I really let myself convince to give it a try and holy…what a waste. Dover strait.

Bots dont spawn at the convoy early game spawns. All bots are at the ports either at britain or france. 30 km to sail. Nothing to do. Enemy player probably never played it and spawned in never neverland.

You are telling me having 0 queue time but having to sail 30 km to be able to shoot at the first enemy is better than waiting for 20 minutes for a proper match???

grafik

EDIT: oh wait players join quite quickly…what the bots are for that dont spawn at where the action is idk though…

The major appeal to Enduring Confrontation for me was because it allowed the game to have a proper mix of various classes of ships instead of just being 100% the same thing, whether that was battleships or whatever BR you were playing in RB/AB. In EC there was the whole range of ships for once. It was like a break in the grind that offered something actually different. As others have said, now it’s just the same grind as RB but on bigger maps. I can’t understand how this could be what people actually want?

Why not just have BRs but keep the spawn points? So, if the highest you have in your lineup is Rank V, then the match is just like before but capped at Rank V?

Or better yet, why can’t we have it both ways, if it’s going to start up with only a few players anyway?

not gonna mention the fact the IOWA is also very OP being only a little worse due to worse guns

its literally beats every ship ingame in a 1v1 except soyuz but you know not op or something

not saying soyuz is justified in being OP but not mentioning IOWA is criminal

? i mentioned iowa multiple times in a lot of my posts. Sojuz still beats it stat wise by a solid margin though.
But yes, Iowa is also equally a bully for everything that is not an iowa or a sojuz

I feel like Stona is bringing up some good points, but EC shouldn’t be a farming simulator, it should be a long term strategic game where you and plan out attack/defend with other teammates/friends, and weigh the costs of each action.

Now there’s no costs(being SP), and everyone is a battleship which essentially is what naval RB already is, except with a 3 hour length max.

its dummifying naval EC to a point where it isnt a fun game anymore, its just a farming simulator with massively long commute times to each engagement.

At least with the spawn cost system, your fleet of ships had a tangible weight to it, and an enemy would need to expend a similar amount of weight to repel it. It would make the payoff of the long travel time for attackers worth it as you COULD surprise an enemy team with a small fleet of fast BBs at one of their cap points, with the enemy being forced to burn away a comparable amount of SP to repel the attack. Now they can repel the attack for free and waste all of the attackers time spent traveling to get there.

Now its pointless to waste 30 minutes traveling to a harbor point as anyone can just spawn a defending battleship for free and easily repel your attack.

Congrats, you just wasted 30 minutes crossing the ocean to meet 5 IJN nagatos who can spawn for free the moment you arrive!

you didnt mention the massive performance gap between iowa and yamato tho only that SOYUZ is op

im not going through every detail each time i have to bring that topic up again. i posted the stats. thats enough for everyone to see whats going on. in the thread of the patch notes i stated several times that iowa is almost equally as strong as sojuz, in some aspects maybe even stronger. this thread is not a balance discussion after all but about naval ec. But ofc the horrible balance doesnt exactly make naval ec better.

SL nerf is coming. Great job.

Why dont you increase time in normal battles and add infinite respawn into regular mode and bring back naval EC as it was ?

So, im in a match with 3 players in each team. 2 players in my team have 5.3 ships at max and one has 5.7.

The enemy has 2 players with battleships. Two have a 6.3 north dakota the third i dont know.

What exactly is better about this now?

Bots start shooting at you from 17 km away. I mean kinda good that they are not completely useless and even annoying for the battleships. But of 3 salvos of them 3 take out the bridge or start fires on my moffett…

Cool that we can spawn our best ships without sp cost. Moffetts, uss atlanta and a spokoinyy.
The enemy team can spawn two north dakotas…3 torpedo hits with 4 m running depth did nothing to one of them. But good to hear that one team being pushed out of the match if one team would have amassed too much SP is a concern. Now they dont even need SP to do that. They can just respawn even if you would get them with torps. And thanks to completely uneven teams do exactly the same like it was before. But now they dont even have to play careful or good.

Youre not seriously going to try and sell me that now one team having two sojuz and one iowa vs a team with 1 gneisenau, 1 Hood and one Fuso is better because theres no more Spawnpoints???Because the hood can now respawn without sp cost in a death spiral of losing sp and doing nothing??? The enemy team can do exactly the same! And each of them can have multiple ships that are 10 times better than the best ship that the other team can spawn. And not only that, any of the enemy 8.7s can just spawn right in the losing teams face should they actually manage to get onto an objective.

As long as the team compositions can be that unbalanced (and remember they dont even need to be BR wise. Some ships at the same BR are multiple times as effective as some others) removing the SP costs does absolutely nothing to prevent a snowball effect. Now its not a snoball anymore. Now its an avalanche that starts going right at match start.
