Yeah. I still don’t understand why we as the captain of the ship (Which is what we are when playing naval effectively) has to tell the gunners exactly where to aim rather than telling them you want to hit X position and the crew doing the calculations for that.

Arcade’s aiming system is more intuitive and realistic in this regard.

is happy that guy know all that mine disappear after 15m and he lost all the game place it hahaha🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The enemy were nearly at the harbour but because they were only cruisers and destroyers he was able to suck up the damage long enough to mine off their way in.

I much prefer the RB aiming system as I believe it allows for more skill expression once you learn it

While I appreciate the belated explanation, I still think this is a bad idea.

If the goal is to get more people to play EC matches, I cannot imagine why people joining random battles would suddenly want to play EC now simply because it is integrated into the same menu. As such, I see no end to the bot-infested EC match problem. Maybe it would help if players joined in progress at all stages of the match, but joining a loosing match would be very frustrating and encourage early leaving.

Furthermore, I found appeal of EC was not simply about it being 3 hour match. Rather, it was about playing and facing various different ship types as part of larger fleets in one match. I do indeed think the maps need to be optimized to allow smaller vessels to contribute more. This is why I liked “Port Moresby” where smaller ships have harbors they can duck in and out of to fight or withdraw. But the solution here is not to just restrict all matches to one rank of ships.

Like any game mode, EC was always built around needing a lineup. The argument that it was a problem for people to be unable to play EC with just one event ship is a very weak one. This is like arguing that people should be able to use aircraft-only lineups in ground RB so they are able to play their new premium CAS planes without needing tanks. Besides, a 4.7 starter requirement for ships is really not that high. Most nations reach ships of that BR by Rank II. Players that are willing to commit to 3 hour long game sessions are not going to be repelled by needing a 4.7 destroyer.

I’m kinda just assuming this is being added as a permanent mode in this format in preparation for subs.

Why else would they suddenly completely revamp the mechanics of the mode alongside making it permanently available after near a decade of rejecting any requests to do so because it’d split the playerbase?

Subs fit much better in this format than they would on the small 3 circle cap map or in the larger big circle slug fests where neither side can reload so they are setting the stage for the addition of them

This is what we had that they just killed lol

he got the kill with the mine?

He would know had he actually played EC lol

I get the sentiment but it fails to accurately simulate the fact that this is a ship with a crew with vessels having compliments up to and exceeding 1400 sailors with fire control and rangefinding systems. The captain doesn’t look at the sea and a ship to do the ranging. We aren’t using ships from the age of sail.

i really like these changes. i can finally play the big ships i can basically never play and get some nice rewards too

naval is actually quite alright right now. This is the first time that I actually have fun in this gamemode.

I am not asking us the player to be the rangefinder, I am saying the AI crew should be doing that for us and leading for us to account for where we want to aim.

If the changes necessitated adding bots, they shouldn’t have made the changes.

You say this like Naval EC, or Naval in general. was ever as populated as to not have bots lmao.

If anything, these changes will make the mode more accessible and therefore popular.

Now they only need to revise the grinding speed; progressing is still too slow.

I think we’ll have to understand that the mode to what they changed it, while it might be decent or even good for people that want to grind or get into it might be ok. But for the people that already played it for a long time, have proper lineups and play it for the mode itself and to win matches it is horrible.

Playing with 6 real players and 30 bots might be cool if you get tons of rewards for sinking bots that dont fight back. If youve played naval for 100s or 1000s of hours shooting at bots that do nothing for 2 or 3 more hours is not what youre looking for. And the people that enjoy this now because its new and good to grind will realize that, as soon as they finished this tech tree.
