These replies show to me that people who still defend these changes, or provide “proof” videos of how easily they are to take down, completely ignore the fact that the bombers have gunners. Which if operated by a non-braindead player, will hit you, will damage you to a point where you can’t engage critical parts for long enough to do meaningful damage without risking critical damage on yourself, or straight up destruction by a singular stray shell from a gunner burst taking off your fighters wing.

It feels like high level entitlement. I can EASILY avoid damage when engaging other fighters. But even before the buff to bomber damage models, i dreaded approaching bombers, because that single stray shell from a half-aware player could destroy my plane, or damage it enough to force me to land. Even if i destroyed the bomber, there was a high chance i was gonna be damaged enough to be forced to land and repair to stay at maximum combat effectiveness. Not to mention giving away any altitude advantage to enemy fighters in doing so.

Sure you can claim that i should just “Leave the bombers alone and not go for them” but my question to you is; Why should bomber pilots be entitled to rewards, and be left untouched?

If i leave bombers alone at the start, there’s a chance the bomber pilot will just climb to the edge of space, needlessly dragging out the match, wasting everyone’s time. “Just get the ground targets to win” is the argument you hear over and over. Well if bomber pilots are allowed the most non-interactive gameplay loop for rewards, why should i work for my rewards any more than them?

Thats why they should have limited ammo without aerial reload as they do in simulator battles.

Then it will be no problem. Also will be fair. Also will bring another tactic against bomber.

Lol, players are evolving. Just now this P-61 went right under my Er-2 that has a giant blind spot underneath and…

Destroyed my engines with his +90 degree vertical defence guns. I was not ready for that, huh.

Imagine that, something that takes zero skill to play, requires skill and developing tactics to take down. But people will say that’s fine, without any arguments as to why.

It still takes skill to fly and to aim… Also, if it will have limited ammo without aerial reloading - it will take skill to manage its gunners…

You just want to eliminate bomber players from the game.

Historical accuracy, and the bomber multi-turrets aiming mechanism is currently broken.

I mean, people are okay with heavy tanks that have to be taken down by shooting at specific weakspots or immobilising them with tracks…

That is what all the defenders of the current state want to believe, i have said it many times in the last few days. But i’ll say it again since simple people don’t know how to read and comprehend what they have read:
I DO NOT WANT THEM REMOVED. I WANT THEM TO BE TUNED A BIT, SINCE I THINK THE DURABILITY IS OVERDONE FOR GAME BALANCE PURPOSES.

Hopefully you can internalize that, and stop twisting my meaning and words.

Historically no bomber was operated by one person with mouse and keyboard, with 3rd person view, wide POV bomber view, magical instructor keeping the plane level with damage etc etc.
Also 90% of the bombers didn’t survive the kind of damage that they do in game. All the pictures you see of bombers with massive damage, which seems impossible to survive but they did, are edge cases. They are not the majority.

That’s precisely the issue: fighter damage model need to be revised, too

we will have to wait for a answer from gaijin on this topic ngl

Yeah, that round have almost 500gr of explosive, not like a person could survive that in the head xd

Gonna post this again because i got “flagged”, hope it was for the link and no because someone felt threatened

new SAPHEI-T round that do nothing against bombers

most rounds do nothing to them at the moment it’s not a SAPHEI-T issue, .50 cals are the most efficient rounds to deal with bombers cuz you still can pilot snipe them

SAPHEI combine the percing capability with an HE filler, it doesn’t works as AP and the HE do no damage, it’s like the 7.7mm ball at this point

Pretty much, the overtuned dms just sponge about anything you can think of. But some people swear this is reasonable.

You clearly don’t play bombers, since you don’t know the bomber multi-turret aiming system is broken and still claim it takes zero skill to play.

You said the bomber was “dreaded to approach” even before the buff, and your starting point is that you don’t want to be destroyed, forced to land, unable to stay at maximum combat effectiveness, or even give away any altitude advantage to other enemy fighters when intercepting bombers.

All these demands on the intercepting pre-buff bomber, and the bomber players are the ones with high-level entitlement?

And why should people expect you to want to reduce bomber players’ in-game position to worse than that before bomber DM was buffed?

Quote the single demand i had in that post you quoted, please. Lacking reading comprehension, or ignoring what i said on purpose twists what i meant. I said i dreaded going for them, not that i demanded any changes.

I simply meant that going for them was already a risk, because of easy aim gunners taking little skill to damage, and hamper my fighters combat ability.
