Windows are already separated. They just provide huge protection anyway.
Really? Must’ve been an error then. Should make a bugreport.
Fast kanon
Fixed cannon
The Gripen’s fixed armament consists of an autocannon. It is a Mauser cannon with a 27 mm caliber, firing high capacity high-explosive (HCHE ) shells. However, the two-seat JAS 39B version does not have a cannon installed. The cannon is used against other aircraft at short firing ranges. It is also effective against ground targets, which can be engaged with high precision.
There’s armored glass in the B-25’s tail, of course HE won’t penetrate it.

And the G5N has zero armored glass anywhere, and still did not penetrate. This is the case with most bombers, the only requirement is for the distance between the shell explosion and crewman to be far enough.
I was having greater success this week after switching to the 30mm incend on the 108s, in place of the frag. They’re both minengeschoss, technically.
Here’s the 8x ADATS thingy btw
Perhaps granting fuel-tanks and spars virtual immunity against blast-damage and fragments of essentially all aircraft-used guns wasnt the best idea.
And you can cope all you want about the 4 B-17s that didnt get blown to pieces, the others that did will certainly thank you for it.
MK 108’s (and like every other 20-30mm gun with HE/HEF-I/HEI/etc.) being incapable of penetrating the outer skin of an aircraft’s fuel-tanks with blast/fragments is just pure fiction atp.
Likely because the incendiary round in game is modeled as just an AP round, so it doesn’t fuse on contact with plane skin allowing it to go a bit further into the plane.
However nonetheless it still doesn’t make the MK 108 particularly effective. Since all it is in game is basically an AP round with a 10x multiplier for fire chance, the base fire chance multiplier will depend on damage, which itself will depend on the penetration of the round which is very little.
Compared to something like a .50 cal with far more pen, RPM and the exact same fire chance multiplier, it means the MK 108 incendiary doesn’t have much of an advantage in game.
From my searching the real life thing works by effectively blowing the nose and then spewing thermite in the forwards direction of the round. This is likely why the structural damage of the round was impressive, however none of this is modeled.
I don’t know, but the odds that I was taking at least some AP rounds is very high, I was attacked by at least 5 different opponents. I will post a link to a replay the next time I fly my B-25 👍
And I want to say again that it was an Air Arcade match. I don’t know if that makes a difference from Air Realistic/Sim. I don’t play Air Realistic or Sim, and don’t want to confuse anyone’s research here.
My gut feeling is that it’s a bug, possibly specific to the B-25. I am not 100% sure. Maybe I’ll try and find the replay for that match. I was extremely surprised that my tail gunner survived, all the way until I was finally destroyed.
idk guys, your 30MM,s might be too weak if anything and bomber not to strong
and now maybe use a 30mm that actually sees b29s or tu4s at least
it sees B-52,s and Tu-95 and friends🤑
They model the penetration explosion effect just fine, It work like this as long as it penetrate.

I remember how ki-109 just detached my wing with 75mm right after the update, it was cool.
I was flying infront of it, watching it try to hit me from 1.5km, it was fascinating. Then, a single hit near the root of a wing and a snap. Plane lost.
In a replay its projectile entered my wing from a trailing edge and detonated right near the leading edge, destroying the structure completely.
yuh, tbh i like these new models, they are fun for bombers and for people that have some patience and don’t need to get into a new match every 5min
and for people that have some patience and don’t need to get into a new match every 5min
they are not fun for anyone that isnt a bomber player
They were fun for me today, as I played on yak-9k and I-225, fighting with them. It was more fun than before, even tho I am not skilled enough.
they are, its really fun to shoot them down now instead of them being a pinjata
When I one-hit the B-17 on my yak-9k, hitting the pilot it was a neuron activation for me. Knowing how durable they are.
I don’t think i actually saw anyone test what that test would look like ingame. It was a single shot by a MK 108 vs a Blenheim.
Here is what the damage is ingame on the blenheim, with all the ammo options the MK 108 has on a Me 262A-1a.
Wouldn’t surprise me that the Blenheim ingame would survive that no problem.
